SOURCE: battery indecator light on on dash

Check to make sure that there's power from the alternator to the battery on the charge-back wire. If nothing's there, then your alternator is junk and you'll have to replace it again.

SOURCE: trunk does not open using dash button or button on

Check your fuse box, look on the diagram and locate the fuse (10 amp most likely) for the auto trunk. The clicking is the relay, it also operates the keylees entry for the doors.

Good luck

SOURCE: the truck button on the dash does not open the

The fuse that powers this is a 20 amp fuse, #63, at the fuse panel at the left side of the dash. If the fuse is good then you could have a bad latch release mechanism in the trunk latch itself which would require getting into the trunk somehow. Do any of your rear seats fold forward on this vehicle to allow trunk access that way? [I don't recall if they do or not just now] Good luck, hope this helps a bit!

SOURCE: when i pull out the light switch the headlights

I think you have some of your symptoms wrong. I think you mean the rear park lamps are not working, not the brake lamps. Please do some checks.

First, the brake lights and turn signals and hazard flashers do not go through the headlamp switch.

The instrument panel lamps, headlights and parking lights do go through the headlamp switch. The parking lamps are the first position as you pull out on the switch. That will turn on the front and rear parking lamps and side marker lamps as well as the instrument panel lamps.

The 2nd position is the headlamp position. That will turn on the headlamps, front parking lamps, rear tail lamps, side marker lamps, and the instrument panel lamps.

So, go out and check to make sure which lights are not working. Step on the brake pedal and have someone tell you if the brake lights come on. Also, chefk to see if the turn signals and 4 way flashers are working. Report everything you find.

Note: The instrument panel lights are connected to the rear tail lamps. That way, if the rear lamps quit, you will know because you will have no instrument lamps either.

dont know this particular vehicle but locate your owners manual and the fuse box or boxes in your vehicle will be shown in it. there should also be a list of what each fuse in the box is so check them out and make sure they arent blown. if you dont have your owners manual the most common places for a fuse box are under the dash on either the passenger or drivers side, under the hood (usually next to the battery but not always), on the side of the dash (drivers side) as soon as you open the door and on rare occasions under the back seat or even in your trunk.

The directional signals in my car stopped working. I don't begin to know what fuse to change...can you please help me Thank you

if the signals stopped working, ( yet they light up, just don't flash) then its not a fuse you need, its a flasher unit, the flasher is a 3 prong, square unit that is located just above the emergency break pedal on the inside face of the lower dash panel. To replace this flasher you should start by removing the 2, 9/32" bolt head retaining screws holding the black access panel just above the break pedal. Lay down on your back and look up inside the dash. You may find the round hazard flasher high just above your head, this is not it. Stick you hand up along the panel in front of the emergency break pedal just behind the trunk release button. Locate with your hand a 2 inch long square relay box and move it to unhook it from it's clip. (If the flasher is the factory flasher it will have a metal clip retaining it under the dash. Your new part will not have this clip.) Route the old flasher and wire down so that it hangs from under the dash. Now you can see it and disconnect it. There are multiple connectors, but only three of them line-up and actually have metal receptors inside the socket. Take note of the removal of the flasher so you are not confused during reinstallation. I think the other connectors are for additional features not needed in the US. Take the part to the parts store or just replace with new one. Relocate the flasher safely up in the dash in relatively the same place and make sure it won't move around. return the black panel to its position above the break pedal and replace the 2, 9/32" retaining screws. 1997 deville, battery drains overnight, pin pointed to a relay in trunk energized, removed relay, no dash lights.if you remove body 3 50 amp fuse it doesn't drain overnight, but also won't start...

I've replaced several rear body control modules that go bad and drain the battery. It is located behind the seat, black box about 4" x 5" rectangle. You can use a hand held scanner to diagnose them, the ones I replaced did throw a code. It is complicated and you need a pinout chart to diagnose it with an ohm meter. The ones I got were new and ran around $350.00

Abs light stays on and goes off occassionally. What is the best way to get to the source of the problem?

I don't understand these questions

Any dash light you get is a Vehicle System
Malfunction ( no owners manual)

They have been with us for 30 years now,
still hundreds of questions a night

Study OBD2 Systems on the internet

All check lights need immediate attention

Check for Codes
Diagnose
Repair

Do so in a few days of any light on dash, they
won't go away & won't pass inspection & eventually
will end in costly repairs
