Check to make sure that there's power from the alternator to the battery on the charge-back wire. If nothing's there, then your alternator is junk and you'll have to replace it again.

Check your fuse box, look on the diagram and locate the fuse (10 amp most likely) for the auto trunk. The clicking is the relay, it also operates the keylees entry for the doors.
Good luck

i honestly am guessing, can you turn key to the left from vertical or right from vertical,if so one (left or right)is to lock trunk so you can give your keys to valet parkers....

The fuse that powers this is a 20 amp fuse, #63, at the fuse panel at the left side of the dash. If the fuse is good then you could have a bad latch release mechanism in the trunk latch itself which would require getting into the trunk somehow. Do any of your rear seats fold forward on this vehicle to allow trunk access that way? [I don't recall if they do or not just now] Good luck, hope this helps a bit!

I think you have some of your symptoms wrong. I think you mean the rear park lamps are not working, not the brake lamps. Please do some checks.
First, the brake lights and turn signals and hazard flashers do not go through the headlamp switch.
The instrument panel lamps, headlights and parking lights do go through the headlamp switch. The parking lamps are the first position as you pull out on the switch. That will turn on the front and rear parking lamps and side marker lamps as well as the instrument panel lamps.
The 2nd position is the headlamp position. That will turn on the headlamps, front parking lamps, rear tail lamps, side marker lamps, and the instrument panel lamps.
So, go out and check to make sure which lights are not working. Step on the brake pedal and have someone tell you if the brake lights come on. Also, chefk to see if the turn signals and 4 way flashers are working. Report everything you find.
Note: The instrument panel lights are connected to the rear tail lamps. That way, if the rear lamps quit, you will know because you will have no instrument lamps either.
