Weird "bang" coming out under my chevrolet Suburban 1988

I`m driving an 1988 suburban. The last year i spent over 5000$ on my car, i replaced the glow plugs, 4wd got repaired, engine warmer, and i got a new gear box. Now since two weeks i got a big "bang" nois coming out under my car (under the back) when pulling up in a turn in a low gear or just when turning in a low gear or at a low speed. It seems like one of the back wheels cant get grip, and than "bang" it gets grip and everything is over. The noise is "bang" is not always showing up. The "bang" never comes pulling up when driving in a straight line. Has someone experienced something like this? Is my gear box broken again? Or is it something else and what can I do about it?

This is Caused by a Pinion Gear Tooth being Broken off inside the Rear end. Eventually this will get worse and wind up Shelling out the Rear end. You can Rebuild the Rear end or Get a Replacement But, One of them will need to be done Pretty soon. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

Hi,

This sounds very much like it is the rear differential that may have lost a tooth - or is badly worn on one spot.

Typically you won't notice it at all going straight - but will hear a sharp "Clack" and loss of drive/jolt when turning a circle under load (or uphill).
Not as expensive as gearbox, but still involves stripping the rear axle, and replacement of planetary gears and drive gears as a set of 4.

Please remember to call back and rate when sorted.

Thank you.

No power coming to wiring harness for stereo

I have had a problem with the wiring harness plug on the firewall of my '88 Suburban 4x4 1/2 ton with 6.2l diesel. I have been wiring around it for example to get the glow plugs to work. You might want to wiggle the plug and see if the problem is resolved.

My 1999 chevy suburban won't start

Welcome. The ignition switch is not the part that has the sensor for the security, it is the housing for the switch and key cylinder that does. If the switch was indeed the part that was replaced, then it was the wrong item in my opinion. Does the security light always come on when it will not start?
IF so then do the RESET procedure.....

You probably have a clogged up exhaust system building backpressure on the engine. Check your mufflers and catalytic convertors if you have them something is restricting the exhaust.
