Rear wiper not working

I believe my kids my have swung from the rear wiper blade and after I got it going again I think my wife turned it on with ice build-up. I hear the motor struggling but the spline doesn't turn or move. I would guess the whole motor unit needs replacing. Can the exisitng motor be repaired?

Sounds like the gear wheel in the motor is stripped.

It´s unusual to be able to source wiper motor parts separately, normally motor comes complete.

Maybe you might be lucky, with a good second hand one, down the local wreckers ?

Good Luck !

Audi estate rear wiper not working

is the window snow or ice covered? if so, you'll need to scrape the snow or ice off of it. the wiper blade may only have frozen to the glass. after windows clear, try picking up wiper away from the glass and then turn it on. use your rear defroster to keep this from ocurring again. if none of this works, check for blown fuse under the dash. if this works, please accept my soltion and thank you for choosing

Snow on windows and wife turned on wipers and they didn't come on 20006 maxima ..

wipers dont do very well in ice and snow after the snow and ice was cleared did they work again if not check fuse if fuse is good
First: is it the wipers, wiper arms or motor that is at fault? Most times it is the ball joint piece that comes off, disabling the wipers, and the motor is still good. This reauires replacement of the wiper arm mechanism that has the "socket" on the end, a plastic part. If it is the motor, read on... The motor is located on the passenger side, mounted on the firewall. It "connects" to the arms that move the wipers via a ball joint. The wiper arm has a plastic part that has to be "popped" off the ball of the motor to be able to remove the motor. It simply snaps back on. You facillitate this by removeing the black plastic air vent screen that runs across the engine are near the window. After removing this you will see the arms that control wiper movement. It helps to "undo" the ball/socket if the motor is loose also. Install is just the reverse.

Wiper blade arm is not working. I turned the wiper blades on while there was ice on the windshield. I may have striped the arm.

Yes, you probably stripped them. : ( Remove one of them and try your wipers again. If the shaft is still turning inspect the wiper arm mounting...its probably smooth. Generally the arm mounting is made of a softer metal than the wiper shaft, so all you need to do is wire brush the wiper shafts to remove any material in the serations and install new wiper arm assemblies.

Rear wiper in 2005 barely touches window. Need to

I have a 2002. I thought this problem got fixed before 2005. I couldn't get my arm off because of internal corrosion. I took the wiper blade off to get a little more swing with the arm. I oiled and swung the arm to get it loosened up. Then I bent the arm towards the glass to get more spring pressure and reattached the blade. That will work for a little while. You can get a new arm from Autozone #42536 for $28 plus shipping.

Wiper was pushed down from the parked position

you will need a flat screwdriver about 5/16 or 3/8's wide. to pry your wiper blade off. pull back on your wiper arm while prying with your screwdriver. work on both sides of your wiper blade, you will notice it starting to come off a bit at a time. just keep working it till it falls off.... good luck sawdust46

Replacing rear wiper blade

I purchased a Trico "Exact Fit" #12-A rear wiper blade at Advance Auto Parts for my 2006 RAV4. The directions are very clear. It took about 3 minutes. The key is to open the plastic cover at the bottom joint of the blade by spreading the both sides with your index fingers and pulling straight out. This opens the cover and allows you to bring the blade to a 90 degree angle.
