Thick white smoke coming from exhaust

When you press the accelerator thick white smoke comes from the exhaust. The things i notice from the engine bay are that the intercooler pipe collapses(as the revs drop the pipe goes bock to normal) and a noise can be heard coming from around the turbo. The smoke gets heavier as you rev, you literally cant see through the smoke. I have tried a new air flow meter, it already has a new air filter.
There was a small drop of oil inside the turbo where the pipe connects to it.
Really appreciate any ideas. Thank you. Thick white smoke coming from exhaust

I would think this will be a blown turbo.

These are fed by a small oil pipe and if the unit overheats (due to wear) - this oil fill feed directly into either the inlet manifold - or the outlet - exhaust.
If it is spilling oil into the hot exhaust - you will get a thick white fog. You can confirm this by placing a clear glass bottle or jar in the exhaust stream - and see if it gets a thick coating of oil on it. If it evaporates - it's water, if not - or feels oily - new turbo or overhaul.

Best get is sortd sooner rather than later - as you may be able to save most of it for an overhaul rather than scrap it if badly worn.

My Ford Windstorm Has White Smoke Coming Out Of Exhaust,ConstanLy,Thick White smoke

White smoke is an indication of water in the exhaust. This can be from condensation in the muffler, but that type of smoke usually dissipates after a minute or two of running. Constant, thick white smoke is usually a sign of water leakage into the combustion chamber(s), either via a blown head gasket, cracked head, or cracked block.

When i start my 84 toyota truck 22r i notice white smoke coming out of the exhaust...

If your not overheating or losing coolant, its more than likely engine oil burning. If it is coolant related, possible blown head gasket.

2002 VW has thick white smoke when stated and gets worse as rpm increases. Started all of a sudden after an oil change.

avoid running the car unless necessary! you may have cracked or warped head(s) blown head gasket or any number of major component failure. you need to first and foremost look at the oil and see if it looks milky or murky. this means water is in your oil. then check your water for oil if both of these look ok. try and find where the smoke is coming from. some one may have spilled oil on your exhaust header in the engine bay. if thats the case it will go away but engine degrease will take care of it. have you lost any power or noticed overheating?

What is causing white smoke coming out of the mufflers when I start the engine?

It's normal for a thin white smoke to come out of the exhaust at initial start up. This is caused from moisture built up in the exhaust burning off. However if there is a continuous flow of thick white smoke it could be a blown head gasket causing coolant to burn.

I have a 1992 honda prelude. During a hard acceleration, the car fails to accelerate. Instead, it produces rough sound as if it is not getting a consistant amount of fuel. Slow acceleration is OK. Also...

Check for free play on distrubtor.
If you has a known good disturbutor then do the swap.

===== Lite white smoke during warm up is OK.
If the white smoke is still noticable after 15 minutes of start up then you should start monitor the coolant level and oil level.
If the temp. is raising then it can be stage one of blown headgasket.

Keep track of the temp. and make sure the oil is not getting a white/creamy texture.
DO NOT drive it if it's overheating.

White smoke coming from exhaust when accelerating

This is usually an indication of a bad head gasket.I gasket. The white smoke is the coolant leaking out of the engine and winding up in the oil passages, due to a bad head gasket. To confirm this,
1. check oil. Is level increased, or milky appearance?
2. Is coolant level dropping, but u don't see any signs of leaks?
The above indicates a bad head gasket, causing the white smoke u describe. Let me know how u make out.
