Air in the brakes

I have a 1999 Chrysler Intrepid...when I put the brakes on all I hear is air. I still have brakes but what is going on?

    I have the same car, with the same problem...when I press on the brakes, all I hear is air!!! Maybe it's a default with this car????

Sounds like you vacuum booster has a leak somewhere, in a line or booster itself.

I change master cylinder brakes and still getting


One of the brake slave cylinder or hoses has a leak and is letting air in. Get it inspected to change out parts as needed.

My power brakes failed and i can hear an air leak,


IF YOUR HEARING IT IN THE CAB YOU MAY HAVE A LEAK AT THE BOOSTER WHERE THE PEDAL ENTERS IT GET UNDER THE DASH AND PRESS THE PEDAL BY HAND AND SEE IF YOU CAN HEAR IT COMING FROM WHERE THE PEDAL ROD GOES INTO THE FIRE WALL

Ac and deforst buttons have no power, blows hot on window only


since your buddy is a Chrysler tech, he should know that the heater module can be recalibrated with the scan tool or pull the POSITIVE cable off for five mins and put back on restat the car and select all modes, I assume this worked prior to batt replacement, sevice manual helps you do a manual calibration in different modes. Brakes is sucking air ,you hear air gushing until you hit the brakes


If you seem to hear it just under tha dash and seems to lessen or go away when press on pedal then it's the brake booster.
