Question about 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

Heater not hot

I just replaced the heater coil in my V6 4.3 ltr '99 Chevy Blazer. When i turn the heat on, it isn't hot, or even warm. What is the problem? The temp gauge is a little over a quarter of the way up. So it's getting to normal running temp.

Hello;
Could be a combination of things. First replace the thermostat with a new one. Then backflush the system, that should fix ya right up. Hope this helps, Thanks;

Is the vehicle running at normal temperature..If its running cooler than normal,then it might be the thermostat..Feel the upper radiator hose after the vehicle hot..It should be hot to touch

My 1994 Chevy Blazer S-10 is not blowing out any air when I turn the heater on...

Is the fan turning on? I assume so.. when you change the hot/cold selector do you hear the flaps inguage? could be the linkage there. Otherwise, check your coolant level - make sure your heater core isn't plugged (let engine heat up, then see if the heather both heater hoses going into the firewall are warm). If one is colder than the other, flush the heater core.

Engine gets hot and there is no heat?

check coolant level after vehicle warms. I SAID WARM!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT REMOVE RADIATOR CAP FROM A HOT ENGINE.then thermostat and possibly heater coil. not quite sure but there may be a heater control valve to. switch on dash could be bad.

I have a 2003 chevy blazer but no heat,nothing but

Start by flushing your coolant system and replacing your thermostat. You may later find that you have a clogged heater core.

Why wont my 99 chevy blazer temperature warm up?

You may have vapour lock in your heater lines. Start engine, put heat lever on high, disconnect one of the lines on your heater core, the one on the flow out side, & see if you have any air coming out. Once antifreese comes out stick line back on & retighten clamp. Make sure your cooling system is topped off. Also your water pump may not be functionihg to it's maximum. Take rad cap off cold & view flow rate. If inadequate you may have to replace the water pump. Good luck!

My 1999 chevy blazer will not blow heat

the age of the vehicle does suggest the heater core could be plugged, when the motor has been run awhile where is the temperature gauge (if it has one). ?
If i remember right it's not that bad a job to replace the heater core in those trucks... but it's been awhile for me. I would suggest some cardboard or something in front of the rad to see if it warms up at all. if so it is likely a thermostat that needs to be replaced.
