Look in the trunk in the left quarter panel area near the back of the tail lamp and you will see a small black module with a red or white button on top of it.This is the fuel pump inertia switch designed to trip during impact to shut off the fuel pump. Just push down on the button until u feel it click. Then cycle the ignition switch from off to on a couple of times to prime the pump and you should be set to go.

She triggered the fuel shut- off inertia switch, I think it's located on either side of the trunk. Look for a small note saying fuel switch, it will have a button on the bottom of it, just push to reset. Sometimes they are under the dash, but usually only trucks. She's very lucky the airbags did not deploy!

Why won't my car start ford fusion 2009 wont start after hitting a curb and blew my tires out

the inertia switch may have been tripped due to the impact of hitting the curb and blowing out tire. blame ford for this design because in the past they manufactured cars that would blow up during collisions. so all ford vehicle now come with a intertia switch to shut off fuel when it senses extreme impact. all you have to do is flip the switch and your car should start and run again. its a pain. look for location of switch in owners manual.

Hit a pot hole - car lost fuel power still will try to turn over but no ignition 1998 Ford Mustang

If you hit the pothole hard enough, your fuel cut-off may have actuated. Locate the cut off, (some of them are around the steering post towards the firewall) and push to reset.
