Starter motors are nearly all bolted to the area where the gearbox meets the engine - and act on the large flywheel on the "working" end of the engine.
Usually there is just one or two plugs or leads to undo - then 3 bolts - and it comes off.

Access is often the most difficult - needing to remove airfilter, covers and battery tray to get your arms in. Wear thick gloves and pick the right sized sockets and you shouldn't go far wrong.

crankshaft position sensor! located on top of transmission bell housing.replace it .if your problem persist your gonna have to remove transmission and replace the fly wheel flex plate they are bad to crack and cause erratic crank position signal. this is usually accompanied by a sound resembling a pebble in the tailpipe type rattle. good luck and happy motoring __O^-o

I have a 1996 olds 88 with 15x,*** miles. When I tried leaving work yesterday, my car would make a clunk sound when I would try to start it. After trying a few times and getting the same thing, I stopped...

well... you are in the right area with your problem. The high wheezing sound is usually the starter not engaging but you need to figure out if he starter is the problem or if the fly wheel is the problem. I would start by removing the starter, taking it to a parts store and have them check it for you. They will do this free. If it is the starter then pick one up while you are there and put the new one in.

Your starter solenoid stuck on. (This may be internal to the starter). You need to replace the solenoid (or starter), then get the battery charged, and try again. If this has a carburetor (rather than fuel injection), you may need to prime it with starter fluid or a little gas in the throat of the carb (put the air filter assembly back on before you try to start it, you don't want to start a fire).

Driving along and made a turn heard a loud noise and car would not move and once off the road i put in park and tires kept rolling. I recently had a rebuilt transmission installed

then it was either installed wrong and you just lost your driveshaft or it was rebuilt incorrectly/with faulty parts and has failed, either way take it back and get them to fix it under warranty. only other thing would be the differential but since no one messed around with that recently im gonna put my money on tranny/driveshaft

TV bracket location?

I would just measure the travel of the arm and add about 1.5 or so inches to allow for adjustment later. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Starter sticking

You need starter shims between the starter motor and the engine block. shims are availble at your auto part store.
