1987 Lincoln Mark 7 electrical problem

My lincoln mark 7's heater core was messed up so i let my dads friend install a new one cause he was chraging a cheaper price than the mechanic we normally go to.....so when i get my car back i hook up the cd player and listen to it....and every time and type of bass hits the lights dim...no subs hooked up...just door speakers...i thought i had somethin hooked up wrong and i got a new cd player later anyway...so i hook the new one up and it just cuts on and off randomly when the car is off and when the car is on on.....also when the car is on and i hit the brake and sometimes when i change gears the console that has the time one it flashes on off on as well as the console with the outside temp and direction....sometimes the speedometer and rpm...dont' work...they randomly jump up...i have noticed that just about everytime i switch gears and hit the brake...stuff starts flashing....and the climate control just repeatedly flashes like 30secs after the car is started and the climate control is on...it has done this for about 3 days but sometimes i would hit the brake and the car would rev up like i hit the gas.....also i ran new constant and power wires str8 off the battery to the cd player and now it works fine...but i'm still havin all these other problems.....i have a new battery...high output alternator....and voltage regulator...i don't know what's wrong...it didn't do this before the heater core was fixed....what do you reccomend?

You need to RE-Ground the Dashboard. Find a Nice Think piece of steel to mount a 12 gauge wire and find a spot "Maybe the Bolts to the Steering Column" or another Good Body ground..

Everytime you hit bumps OR shake the dash you are losing the Ground to your dash, Ford Loves to Ground to Dash and then use a Cheap ground.

SMOKE COMING FROM HEATER VENTS. 1974 LINCOLN CONTINENTAl MARK IV. I HAD A NEW HEATER INSTALLED JUST A FEW YEARS AGO. I JUST HAD NEW HEATER DEVICE INSTALLED ON HEATER HOSE.

Sounds like the heater core has failed. If I remember correctly though that is likely the easiest core to replace out of just about anything ever made. (the one that has about ten screws holding it into the top of the heater box on the engine side.) Possible that when the heater control valve was replaced someone pulled too hard on one of the heater hoses and split the neck on the core, but you won't know that till you get it out.
Good luck

1979 lincoln mark v water leaking from black box on passanger side what could cause this

Heater core has sprang a leak or the hoses are leaking that go to the heater core. Chances are if that is the original heater core it has a leak. Very common as vehicles get older. Has happened to me and my customers numerous times.

Electrical problem

This is going to be a loose ground. Since the problem occured after a heater core replacement I would check the ones there. Pull the kick panels off of both sides and make sure the grounds are hooked up and tight. They will have bolt thru connectors on the end of the wires. Also look at the center brace area under the dash sometimes they have them there too.
