Question about 1988 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

When I turn off my 1988 Buick Lasabre the heater fan stays on.

This happened a few months ago and then it started working properly again. I have to disconnect the battery for it to shut off it won't turn off if I take out the fuse.

Check where the wiring goes into the fan motor itself. The power probably goes there first into a blower motor resister. If the resister is shot many times its the same symptoms your describing. If you dont know what it looks like you could stop at a auto parts store to see.

THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO MY 98 BUICK LASABRE WON'T TURN OFF. I TRIED TO TURN OFF THE CAR BUT THEY STaY ON THEN WHEN I START IT AGAIN. THEY TURN OFF MOMENTARILY THEN COME BACK ON. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

do you not have a switch on dash for them? try turning the switch counterclockwise to turn them off. or you may have a bad switch on the door jam,,look for a plunger swictch on the door jam itself push the plunger in on the doorjam,,if the lights go off, then you'll know the problem! hope this helps!1

1988 Buick LaSabre-Starts, but when you put in gear, it dies.

I would start with the MAP sensor.
You can also pull codes out of it. there should be a 10 or 12 pin plug under your dash in the canter of the car. here is a link that may help.

Ignition switch

Next time this happens leave the key in the on position, open the hood and lift the fuel solenoid link (between the fuel solenoid and the injection pump) up. If it stays up the truck will start and run. The solenoid is shot but that might be a symptom of set of bad starter contacts.

The contacts start to pit bad enough that the power back feeds through fuel solenoid. Larry B is a good source for the parts to fix these problems: http://www.fostertruck.com/dodge/default.htm
