2002 BMW 525i unable to adjust the passenger headrest.
The passenger headrest is stuck in the highest position. I haven't found a release button or a way to get the seat headrest to move. Any ideas? Not the original owner of the car.

Make sure you replace it after removal. It is part of the safety system and prevents you getting a broken neck in a crash.
Depress the large button on the head restraint guide and raise the head restraint to the full up position. Depress the smaller button on the opposite head restraint guide and pull upward to remove from the seat.Jan 16, 2022
Some vehicles have a tiny push button or lever under the headrest where you can hardly see it (for release of the headrest.) If you look top and bottom all over the headrest you may find the release somewhere on yours.
God bless your efforts.
sounds like the latch is in the first lock position before it contacts the lock. Place a round bar (screwdriver ) under the tongue and pull out at same time as you press the release button /lever
You only need to hold the left odometer reset button while turning the key to position 1 (Accessory). Keep holding the button for 5 or so seconds until any of the following shows in the display: OIL SERVICE or INSPECTION with RESET or RE. Release the button and press it again for another 5 or so seconds until RESET or RE flash. While the display flashes, press the button one more time briefly. If done correctly, END SIA should show up for a few seconds. All done. Thank you for using fixya
If there is no visible button try this. Raise the headrest to it's highest position. At the backrest end of the headrest there should be a slot in the mounting hole insert. Insert a flat blade screwdriver, wriggle the screwdriver and the headrest and it should slide up and out. This image is only a rough guide from a g5.
Shift to reverse, adjust the mirror for normal, and save that to memory for that operator. This is presuming that you have not found a setting to turn off reverse mirror settings.....
I found the owners manual and it says take it back to BMW!
Most other posts I found on the net say it is under the passengers side rear seat. But I guess that depends on if you have a right hand or left hand drive.
turn on bluetooth to your vehicle...open your phone to bluetooth you should see a menue that says pair devece or look for devices to pair with click on that and let it searchh that should fix the prob...
The headrest has on obvious button to adjust the height and another button kinda hidden to remove the headrest. The black plastic ring at the base where the metal poles insert into the seat is where the two buttons. You probably noticed the obvious on that sticks out of the side of one of the rings. The other plastic ring contains a similar button that is not noticeable due to it being flush with the side of the plastic ring. Adjust the headrest to its highest position, then locate the "hidden" button on the other plastic ring and depress it while lifting on the headrest and it should come out.
