Hi mate if you take off the reversing sensor 2 pin connector which is on the top of the gear box next to the breather and put a split pin or small bit of wire to bridge the connector check the lamps if they come on it is the switch [i think you have a petrol r65 gear box ]

Reverseing lights fuse blowing

Look for a bad connection and most likely, a damaged wire that is grounding out. (Hot ground = power wire damaged and is contacting metal)

Hope this helps.

NOTORIOUS// replace the ignition switch and you'll be fine. switch is still live when you take your key out. there's a short from the switch to the battery.

S80 backup light wont work

There are only 2 things to check other than the bulbs, 1st the back up lite fuse, and the 2nd the back up light switch on the trans, if the fuse is ok replace the backup light switch.

All rear end lights; brakes, reverse, turn signals not working when activated. checked all fuses, all ok

Often times the light socket assembly will become overheated in the Montana, (& Chevrolet Venture vans) and this will cause a bad contact between the light bulb and the socket. Sometimes it will also melt the plastic of the light assembly. If this happens, replace the entire assembly.

If it is not melted, sometimes just taking a screwdriver and pushing the light assembly contacts closer together will fix it - although in my experience you usually will end up replacing the light assembly after a little while (just putting off the unavoidable).

Many salvage yards should have this part if you want to save a few bucks.
