Question about 1997 Toyota Camry
My 1997 Camry was bought a month ago. Within the first week the fuel pump had gone out. It hums really loud and usually when you've driven it for a while the humming starts cutting out and in, sounding really bad. We are on the 3rd fuel pump since I've bought it!!!!!!!!
What happens is when I have been driving it for a good bit (about 10-20 min.) the car starts cutting out while im accelerating, or going at a steady speed. It will **** and the rpm's sometimes go down with the jerking and sometimes they dont. It's in the shop for the 2nd time now and they are about to give up on it. When I brought it to them the 1st time they replaced the fuel pump (the 3rd one) and took off the tank, cleaned it out and found a lot of debris in the tank?! He gave me a baggie of some of the stuff he had found in the tank - tiny plastic pieces and dirt?!?! He also checked the wiring, the injectors, and the electricity the pump was getting. He says even when the humming is cutting out the pump is still getting full electricity. Please help, I'm about to give up as well.
Some of that junk could be in the lines its hard to tell unless you have them blow the lines out.
