What you want to do is take a test light find the electrical plug thats hooked to wiper motor, either unhook it and test the plug with switch and key on or poke in the wires and see if it lights test light, if no light then i would say its switch, if it lights than its wiper motor. I don't know of any relay for wipers.

97 jeep cj windows and wipers stopped working fuses are ok

97 wrangler right? CJ ended in 86 (last year)
97 TJ, you mean, or was posting to Cherokee correct all along./?????
factoid:
The Chrysler Corporation bought out AMC in 1987, shortly after the Jeep CJ was replaced with the AMC-designed Jeep Wrangler or YJ.

test the fuse, looking only finds the ones blow to H3LL
they can in fact just crack a bit. and are in fact bad.
use any DMM or any ohmmeter, "resistance Rx1 or RX2 range , low range) 0 ohms good, , infinity bad.
only that works. every time.
lets read the FSM together.

wipers first. USA not export.
Front wiper not rear. ok>?
page 8w-53 wiper schematic.

fuse 2 and 3 must be good.
then fuse 14 front wiper ,fuse 12 is rear
if the fuses are good, (truely) we never ohm fuses we use VOLTS
on both sides of fuse, volts never lies.
then what is bad, easy bad wiper switch, motor or ground to motor.
the voltmeter again wins the toss and if no 12vdc to motor
then the switch or wire are bad.
if you have 12v to motor then motor is bad , if ground to motor is no cut.

now windows. what windows, are then not crank windows or zipper windows?

i think you posted wrong car,,

1988 jeep cherokee,6 cylinder my front windsheild wipers dont work.fuse is good.the wiper motor makes a noise when its turned on.is there a relay that could be faulty?wiper switch is the same as the turn...

No relay in the circuit.
There is a delay module but if it fails that usually causes the wipers to stop in the middle of travel or only run on high.
And the switch is working if you hear noise coming from the motor. The wiper switch is not the same switch as the turn signals but it is near that assembly.
I would say if you have power to the wiper motor the motor is probably dead or something happened to the linkage to the arms.

Bad wires connections, Multiswitch go to bad or finally wiper motor.

Wiper blades stopped mid action after de icing window

Look for a blown fuse/bad relay. The wiper blades would not cause this problem. It's possible the motor lost power due to a broken internal wire, brush, or maybe a seized bearing. There is an auto-return switch mounted to the motor that may have failed. Good luck!

Rear Windsreen wiper motor runs continuousley in

The "stop" function is in the motor of the wiper...remove the fuse and call it a day...You shouldn't use it anyway the rear glass is "soft" in these cars and the wiper action will damage the glass over time.
Sorry :o(

94 YJ Wiper

Do you have a test light /probe to check that you have power at the wiper motor? If not swap one fuse at a time with same colour and amp rating until you find the dodgy fuse,if there is one.Did you check the old wiper motor to make sure it is no good as the wiper motors dont usualy give trouble and to have two in a row fail usualy implies that there is another problem. It may be the switch.
