2003 chevy silverado codes

Also have a 2003 silverado 4x4 4.9l "v" engine. I currently have 2 codes 171 bank 1 runs too lean & 174 bank 2 runs too lean. my tech says it's the intake manifold? does this make sense?

I have the same problem with my 5.3 l vortec. 2003 K1500 Silverado

I finally found the root problem throwing these codes out and had to have the intake manifold gasket replaced. this corrected the problem and i am told in worse cases the "plastic" crappy manifold GM used on this engine warps causing more problems. if you you have to replace the manifold get your check book out! it's a big money item around $600 just for the part. there's a guy on ebay selling a new "modifyed" manifold that is designed not to warp or have the gasket fail. the gasket for the old manifold is about $60 for the backyard mechanic it's not a difficult job. I did it in about 3 hours total.

Dorman offers a replacement manifold for considerably less.

I have two engine codes 171 and 174 engine is running fine how do i repair them

Well code 171 is telling you the fuel mixture is too lean for bank one and code 174 is too lean bank two.
So the most common cause is low fuel pressure.

97 ford expedition has a code 171 and 174 bank 1 and 2 lean what do i do to fix this

Code 171 and 174 are for bank 1 and 2 running too lean. The engine has compensated as rich as it can go, and it is still to lean. This does not necessarily mean your mixture is bad, but something (a sensor) is telling the ECM to correct lean. The oxygen sensors alert the ECM to how lean/rich the exhaust is, and then the ECM trips a code. Maybe you have a bad oxy. sensor, but since there are 4 of them (2 per bank), I don't think they could all go at once.

2000 chevy silverado ,5.3 liter engine .service engine soon light on so scanned for problem codes ,results bank 1&2 are running lean .what is the cause or problem that needs to be done to fix

Check for loos connections between the intake and the tube from the air filter. Check if the clamp is loose or leaks in the tube which can cause an incorrect reading. Other than that it may be a dirty MAF sensor which can be fixed by spraying carb cleaning or tuner spray in the intake or it may be bad or a bad oxygen sensor;.

Error codes po 134 po 153 po 154 po 155 po 171 po 174

PO 134 = 02 SENSOR CIRCUIT NO ACTIVITY DETECTED (BANK 1 SENSOR1)
PO 153 =02 SENSOR CIRCUIT SLOW RESPONSE (BANK 2 SENSOR 1)
PO 154 =02 SENSOR CIRCUIT NO ACTIVITY DETECTED (BANK 2 SENSOR 1)
PO 155= 02 SENSOR HEATER CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION (BANK 2 SENSOR 1)
PO 171= SYSTEM TOO LEAN (BANK 1)
PO 174= SYSTEM TOO LEAN (BANK 2)
I WOULD SAY YOU HAVE FAULTY OXYGEN SENSORS CAUSING THE ENGINE TO RUN TOO LEAN REPLACE THEM AND YOU SHOULD BE BACK IN BUISNESS

I have a 1999 chevy silverado with 5.3 v8 po171 & 174 and po420 in that order at times the truck seems to loap when at idel any ideas where to start?

Thes code 171 nad 174 are bank 1 and bank 2 system to lean(02 sensors). these are probably causing the 420 catalist efficency below threshold. The first place to start is all the vacuum lines. check for vacuum leaks. when you get the first two codes 99% of the time it is a vacuum leak. 1% is the mass air flow meter/sensor. And I don't believe you have one on your truck. to old. Also you have to check for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold. use WD40 , spray around the manifold gasket areas if the engine runs better you found a leak.

2003 Ford Ranger 4x4 extended cab- diagnostics checked and got these codes- P0171, P0174, P0300, P0316. Can you tell me what they mean?

P0171------ system too lean bank#1
Po174------ system too lean bank#2
For these 2 codes, try cleaning the maf sensor (mass air flow), that is mounted in the big black hose that goes from the air filter housing to the throttle plate, if it is dirty, that will cause those 02 sensors to send a signal to the computor to lean the air fuel mixture. If cleaning it doesn't work, the sensors will probably need changing.
P0300---- Random/multiple cylinder misfire
P0316---- Cylinder misfire at start up---- first 100 revolutions.
On those 2 codes, you have to do some testing to find out why there is a misfire.
Possible causes:
dirty/malfunctioning injectors
weak coil pack
fowling spark plugs/wires
Low fuel pressure

Check engine light on computer codes 171 174 171-HEGO sensor unable of snitch cylinder bank #1 fuel system at adaptive limit (1990 on) code 174 hego sensor snitching too slow, cylinder bank #1 (1990)

switch, we run off snitches. 171 174 banks 1 & 2 Lean. Most likely cause are Upper Intake Manifold Gaskets, failed seals. It's not 1990 on. It's 1996 and on OBD2.
