Question about 2004 Ford F150

1 Answer

Seatbelt Unlatches I have a 2004 F-150 and the driver's seatbelt keeps coming unlatched. I can latch it and pull hard on it and it stays latched, but at some point the seatbelt suddenly unlatches by itself, even when there is no pressure applied to the latch or the seatbelt.

This sounds like something broken in the latch. Do yourself a favor. Before it comes unlatched in an accident, go to your local dealer and get a replacement latch ASAP. That is one device in a car you shouldn't ever have to question. If it doesn't work right, replace it.

Disable seatbelt chimes, will not go off, since driver door been replaced.

Sounds like the door switch is not switching or not connected. Sometimes the switch is external in the door jamb/closing area, sometimes it is part of the door catch. Maybe check if the door light on the dash stays on, also if the interior light works on door setting.

Seat belt light stays on

Chances are that the wire that leads up to the latch of the seatbelt was pulled off by the vacuum cleaner nozzle. Have a look around the floor by the arm that holds the latch side of the belt for a loose or broken wire.

Driver seatbelt stuck

Try squirting some type of penetrating oil down where the belt inserts into the lock, then while pushing the release button as hard as you can, wiggle the belt latch up and down as hard as you can. Personally, I like SiliKroil penetrating fluid.

Seatbelt bell keeps ringing bell

It sounds like the sensor in the latch is faulty or the wiring leading to the latch is bad. The sensor will be located inside the latch assembly. You'll have to pry the cover off to get to it.

there is a wire that is attached via your seatbelt latch that runs under the seat.
It will make a "DING" sound when the seatbelt is unlatched and the the door is open.
Find the wire and pull it out then complete the circuit by wrapping the 2 wires together and maybe throw a little tape on em!
Bam !!!
prob solved.

Or you could just pull the fuse for that sensor. haha

Dome lights won't go out / 93 buick century

your doorswitch is inside the door on the striker latch. You will need to remove the door panel to access. chances are it is stuck in the closed position. Your seatbelt latch sensor has also gone bad. It is located inside the receptacle of the seatbelt. If you only want to diengage the light, look for the molex plug attached to the wire coming from the seatbelt receptacle.
