Look between passenger seat and passenger door. near door post. There is a button larger than a quarter with rubber bushing over it.

Just like a ford truck it has a relay switch to shut down the fuel when it has a hard impact to lessen the possability of a fire. I am not sure where it is located but you should be able to find it in your owners manual

Why does the fuel reset button on 1993 f150 5.8L shut off?

It is designed to shut off the fuel pump in the event of a collision.
A large pothole may do it as well.

Hit a hard pothole with 2003 Jeep grand cherokee laredo. Immediately stopped. Fuel pump inertia switch?

Never heard of this switch in the fuelpump circuit. Remove the fuel cap and listen if you can hear the pump when you switch ignition on. The pump will run for 3 seconds when you don't start. Hitting the pothole can have dislodged many things, from relays and connectors to a line.

Why does the fuel tank fill so slowly?

At the fill point of the fuel tank is where you put the pump in. After that point the fuel travels down a tube to the tank itsself. It could be one of 2 things a short tube causing fuel to swoosh like waves hitting the pump shutting it off or the tube itself could be small at the bottom causing fueal to come back up the tube. You don't have mechanical failure or problems. Just pump it about half pulled and you'll get along just fine.

I have a 2001 Ford Focus Wagon and I am having a problem finding the fuse for the fuel pump. Could you please give me specific instructins on where it is. Thank you.

Why are you looking for the fuse for the fuel pump? If the fuse is blown, it is probably due to a shorted fuel pump motor or wires. Replacing the fuse will most likely NOT fix whatever problem you are experiencing.
On the other hand, if the engine suddenly stopped running immediately after hitting a large bump or pothole, the inertia switch may need to be reset. It is located behind the right front kick panel (See picture)

Fuel safety shut off location

The Cobalt does not have a fuel shutoff, or Inertia Switch, so there is no reset button. Why are you looking for this? Are you having fuel problems?

Where is the fuel injecton shut off system in a 2002 ford explorer, I found the reset swith but can't locate the shut off system

The reset switch is where the 'inertia' shutoff switch is which will trip when getting hit hard from behind or hitting a bump in the road.

Hitting the button resets the inertia switch.

No power to fuel pump

Your Kia may be equipped with a shock sensor that shuts down power to the fuel pump to prevent fires in case of an accident. Having seen this on several different vehicles, they will also shut down hitting a pothole or driving at speed on rough roads. The reset for these has been always behind a panel or in the trunk of such vehicles.

View safety shut-off switch

The button is located between the passenger door and passenger seat near the door post. You can't miss it. Its larger than a quarter and has a black rubber boot covering it.

Car shut off after hitting lg. pothole

Hi

It should be by the drivers door foot-well.

If its not that, could be the cam sensor.

Good Luck !

Please give me a FixYa rating.

Fuel system shutdown

Check for an impact shutdown switch- this is to stop fuel pumping in case of an accident. Switch is probably in or around the access door on the left rear interior. I've seen this problem in a lot of vehicles, havent had the prroblem with my Sedona.\, so I don't know exact switch locatioin. If your vehicle is high milage, it could also be fuel pump failure. Check all fuses too, include the block under the hood on the left side.
