Getting no power to the feul pump on a 2004 hyundai sonata

Do you know how to test automotive electrical circuit's using a voltmeter ? Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? Here is a web site for free wiring diagrams .
Enter vehicle info. year , make , model and engine . Under system click on engine ,then under subsystem click on fuel controls . Then click the search button then the second blue link . Scroll down to the third diagram . See the fuel pump relay ? Pull the relay out of the fuse/relay box. Test the pins where it plug's into.

Why my hyundai sonata 1999 is not getting power to the fuel pump

Possible causes.

1. Fuse needs to be replaced;

2. Relay which covers the fuel pump ( FP) is faulty and needs to be replaced. Locate the correct relay in the fuse and relay box and have some one turn the ignition on and off slowly a few times. You should hear the relay that covers the FP clicking and when you put your finger on the top of that relay you should feel it clicking as power to the pump is turned on and off. If nothing, the relay is dead and needs to be replaced.

3. Faulty wiring to the FP or faulty wiring connections at the fuel pump itself. Check connections at the FP first as if it is a wiring or wiring connection issue that is the most likely place to find a problem.

1999 hyundai sonata cuts out after 5 miles of driving, we have wait about an hour and it will restart. We have replaced the fuel pump and still the same problem. we were told there was a fuel pump sensor,...

To me this sounds more like a IAC (Idle Air Control Valve) or your MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) is bad and not reading correctly. The fuel pump sensor is an actual relay that you saw, its goes into the fuses. Not really sure what someone told you that it was, due to the fact that you do not have a sensor. Do you have any check engine lights on?

I am not getting fuel from the tank to engine on my 2001 hyundai sonata. after shutting off it would not restart. the fuel pump is not coming on, where is the reset buttom and relay switch

If you have a reset button on your car (some do and some do not) it is located in the rear, usually on the passenger side behind a small the Sonata it would be in the trunk. These buttons normally only trip after a rear end collision.

The relay will be in your fuse panel. Also check the fuel pump fuse. The fuse panel should have a map on the inside cover to guide you to the right components.

The most common problem, however, is a bad fuel pump. After you eliminate the fuse and relay, that will be your next check. You can use a voltmeter to see if the fuel pump is getting power (key turned to ON position)- read across the fuel pump power connector- commonly under the passenger seat.

Location of fuel pump relay (1990 hyundai sonata)

The fuse box is located low on the left side of the dashboard behind a cover, or at the left side kick panel, behind a cover.

Relay Box -is located under the left side of the dash as well.
