It is on the right side of the dash. Look under the glove box, there may be a cover that has to be removed to gain access to it. The blower motor is held on by three 8mm bolts.

Sorry its blower

Its faulty blower motor resistor. The low and medium speed on blower motor is controlled by resistor and its actual speed is high. So because resistor is not working, blower motors actual speed which is high is working.

It can be faulty blower motor or faulty blower motor resistor. Get the blower motor inspected. If it's faulty it has to be replaced.

Where is the blower motor resistor located on a 1988 dodge lancer

REMOVE GLOVE BOX ASSEMBLY LOWER RIGHT SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM COVER AND RIGHT COWL TRIM PANEL. WHEN YOU WILL SEE BLOWER WIRES THATS WHERE YOUR RESISTOR LOCATED. DISCONNECT BLOWER MOTOR WIRES THEN REMOVE RESISTOR.

LOCATION OF BLOWER RESISTER

The Lancer blower motor's are known to heat up and burn out. If you remove it, it is labeled with "Do Not Repair", but it is possible. If you look inside of the block, you will see a flap sticking up - that needs to be soldered down in order to work in the 1 - 3 positions.
The Blower resistor is located on the passenger side under the dash, in the air plenum left of the blower motor.
Thank you for using fixya, and good luck

My moms heater in her 2002 Mittsubishi Lancer just stopped blowing, no A/C ,no heat all the knobs work fine but it will come on once in a while and i mean like once every two months or so just for the time...

For one, if your blower motor is not blowing ANY air...the blower motor is bad. Period. Are you not getting air flow at all?

If it is VERY intermittent, it could be the heater resistor. This is located under the dash, straight back from the center console and on the ducting.

Mitsubishi Lancer ES '02 - Rattling noise in 1st gear...

I think you might need to ask someone to throttle up the car and you look underneath to try locating the rattling noise. Don't forget that this model runs the exaust pipe in front of the motor so it might be an exaust rattle as well??
Cheers
