same issue, my car has less than 50k miles, checked at auto zone and was told it was a misfire on cylinder 2 that could possibly be fixed with a tune up. did a tune up and it still does the same thing.

had the same problem. your clutch is gone, im sure by now youve probably figured this out. warrenty wont cover it because clutches are "wear and tear" parts like brakes, hoses, or tires. cost me $1300 for a new pressure plate, flywheel, and all the rest. ive heard lots of people with the same problem, hopefully my new clutch keeps goin

Hey Guys.. This problem is the Coil Packs. There is a recall out on all 1.8t Motors. If you haven't had an issue, its no rush but should be completed. If you have the sputtering, low power, struggle from the engine, bring it in to an Audi/VW dealer. They'll fix it free of charge. Done and Done.

I had the same exact problem and just fixed this on my '04 Jetta it was the ignition coil. Test each ignition coil while iddleing engine. You'll hear and notice the differece on the good one and not on the bad.

How can I diagnose a fuel delivery problem on a 2003 VW Jetta GLI 2.8L

you can unhook the fuel line where it connects to the fuel rail and turn the key on and see if you get fuel but it's risky you don't want it to spill over the engine. you may just need a new filter or maybe an intermittent short at the fuel pump. could even just be the power supply plug for the fuel pump

Hello - I just bought a 2004 Jetta - day one - mil light came on. Car runs fine. What could it be? 2 mechanics checked the car over before I bought it and carfax said it was one owner no problems.

Have VW check it out. I had just got my 04 GLI with 70,000 miles when the light came on. The thermostat triggered the light and so I had the whole timing belt, thermostat, and water pump service. Worth the money.

1998 Camry GLI temp is not stable

Does fan come on even when heater is off ? Try it in heat mode, not defrost & see if it still stays on. If yes, you need to find the relay for the fan. There may be a few that look the same, but when you pull the right one out with key on you'll know as fan will stop. If fan stops, replace the relay.Check owners manual & fuse panel , as well as under hood.
