Question about 2004 Cadillac Escalade

Cadillac Escalade Electrical Problem, Heated Seats, Power Mirrors

So I have a 2004 Cadillac Escalade, and this all happend at the same time, and still does it even after reprogramming driver 1 so im not sure what would cause so many different things, and note i have a remote start and everything worked perfect and everything operates manually fine, my heated seats no longer turn on with my car, my seat and and mirrors will retract to some other position, once even my display changed to metric, any idea's to help diagnose would be great, the guy's who did the starter install have installed them on 30+ other escalades and this is the first of a problem like this they have heard of. thank you!

I have not had any further problems with the mirrors or seat moving or metric readout since this post, the guys who did the install have done over 30+ of them, I have known these guy's for 10 years and even worked with them at one point, 30 would be an understatement, anyhow as far as the everything acting up except the heated seats, id take a guess that it was due to a bad battery cuz it only did it on really cold days when it took alot to crank over and i had the old stock battery in that dropped in voltage when cranging hard, for my heated seat, the installers are just going to run a wire from my starter to my heated seat module, from what I researched a bad heated seat module can cause many different problems. oh ya and i got lots of dumb questions im full of them! Jen im assuming you are female, where or how do u know thus much in depth on cars, where I'm from a woman cant even find a dip stick, thank you much for the help

Dumb question, are you sure you are using the driver one remote? Being a car dealer, some installers will power the unit to certain fuses and some times this can cause issues. He may have told you 30 but most of these guys really don;t know and they are taught once and never really know if it is a problem from car to car. It sounds like a power failure of some sort causing it to reprogram itself to original specs. I went to a NTB for a battery change and I too had some issues and to my luck the guy was a GM tech at one point. So he was able to give me a few tips. Now you may not have this luck but Maybe call a few local shops like this and ask them if the have any GM techs you can run and issue by. You would be suprised where some of these guys have come from. Especially with the layoffs and need to work, anywhere....
Hoepfully this helps.

you need to check the resistance in each of the heated seat elements in the seat. There's a two wire connector under the back of each front seat. The connector should be green. disconnect it and measure the resistance along the circuit going into the seat. if it isnt .1 - .3 ohms, replace the appropriate heated seat element

The front heated seats on my 2005 Cadillac Escalade ESV stopped working and I can't find the fuse that controls these

a relay controls the heated seats then linked to a circuit breaker instead. the relay is more than likely the problem
