Question about 1996 Chevrolet Suburban
My 1996 suburban which is a 4l60e, will not shift out of park. PLEASE HELP!!!
I stuck a flat blade screw driver up in the little white switch above the brake pedal (you can see it if you look directly above the pedal through the steering rod. It is being pushed by a small piece of metal in the plastic casing) and then tried shifting out of park and it worked. It was a really cold night before and I guess the grease just froze up. It seems to be working fine now even without pushing it in with the screwdriver. Thanks so much deltamech!

Try checking the brake pedal switch which allows shifter movement with key on, brake pedal pressed.
