2001 ford focus vibration

I have a 2001 zx3 focus. it vibrates very bad when idling and seems to get better at higher rpms. it rattles the dash and headliner. the motor mounts seem to be fine and it still runs fine so i don't thinks its missing a cylinder. it does not change wether i'm driving or not. also the speedometer reads full speed(like i'm goin faster than it can read) but all the other guages work fine. also the radio turns on and off randomly. please help with any of the problems if you can. thanks

I searched for a vac leak but was un able to find one. one think i forgot to mention its one of the mufflers was removed and is just a pipe now. it still has a muffler and a resignator but right where the tail pipe comes out it looks like there used to be something there. its all stock components but its a bit louder.

It was a vacuum leak. look for unplugged or cracked vacuum hose, examine the hose thoroughly for it it quite dificult to see a small cracked hose creating a vacuum leak. then get back to me.

Vibration in dash of 2005 ford focus

Is it the dash vibrating or is because of wheel vibration? Generally the dash is pretty sturdy and unless its been in a major prang and the panel beaters have missed putting some of the screws back, it shouldn't vibrate. If the vibration starts at a certain speed and the steering wheel vibrates too, I would say its a wheel balance problem. Any Tyre place should be able to rebalance the wheels and sort this out for you. There is a possibility of a drive shaft vibration but im not sure how you check that out. If it is the dash, then good luck... There are many screws, bolts etc that hold the dash together, You will have to by trial and error , see which one is loose or missing. Before you do anything though, check that nothing is loose and rattling or vibrating in your glove box, ashtray or tissue holder. . There used to be this ad on TV showing a Guy who stripped his entire dashboard down to fix an annoying rattle. When he was looking at the hundred parts or so lying on the driveway, he found a couple of spare coins nuts and bolts rattling around in the ashtray which was the cause of the rattle!

I have a 2001 focus ZX3 and there seems to be a slight vibration in the steering wheel while goint 90-100 km/h, also when starting off from a stop just about to shift to 2nd there is a vibration from the...

I would image you need to get the tires rotated and balanced. Vibrations can be odd can come and go at various speeds. Try at least a rotate and balance, maybe an alignment if you can afford it, and hopefully that will get rid of the vibrations.

My daughter drives a 2001 focus with motor vibration. I just picked it up from the ford dealership where they replaced a motor mount. The problem was not solved and said mabe they could replace more...

Describe the vibration better. Is it a manual or automatic. It is when starting off, or at higher speed. Does it happen when slowing down or turns. Normally you can tell when motor mounts are bad because of the deteriorated rubber bulging out, oil soaked, cracked or ripped, etc. Or pry on the engine with a long 2x4.

I have a 2005 ford focus 2.0L it has a mis at idle but runs fine going down the road.PS I changed the control air vavle

are you sure it is a miss or a vibration? Focuses are famous for a vibration at idle because of the upper motor mounts. some get so bad that the whole dash vibrates at stop lights.

Check the exhaust manifold gasket. I have a 2003 SVT Focus I had a problem with it loping at low RPMs. I had a free flow exhaust system. When I bought a new exhaust manifold I replaced the gasket and the problem went away.
