Had the same problem where I could go out and jump in and the truck wouldn't do anything. Wait a couple of minutes and it would start right up. Battery terminals were corroded and not getting a sufficient connection.

My 2005 uplander wont start, sometimes it tries to but... nothing. it cranks, acts like its not getting fuel. is it the throttle body, iac, relay or fuel pump, what???

I would first suspect the fuel pump. Do you hear it buzz on for a couple seconds with turning the key to ON, not start?
It should come on for 2 seconds to prime the line with pressure to the engine. Do you hear it? Stand by the gas tank and have someone cycle the key to on if you need to.
If you hear nothing from the tank, you need to investigate the fuel pump and it's circuit.
There will be a fuse for the fuel pump, it is under the hood in the power distribution box-the fuse/relay block. The power for the pump goes from that fuse to the fuel pump relay (also in that fuse/block) and when the engine computer signals that relay on, the power goes through the relay and then directly to the pump in the tank.
Try this test, if your pump doesn't work-test the FPR-to test if the relay is getting a signal from the computer: hold your finger lightly on the relay. now have a helper cycle the key again from off to on (not start). Every time the key is cycled you should feel the click of the relay energizing. If you feel it click and you checked the fuse and it is good, and you still have no pump coming on, then it is likely you need a new pump. Bang on the bottom of the tank, a couple of raps, then see if pump turns on. A failing pump can sometimes be turned on by jolting it like this, but it only works a time or two or three.
So now what? If the pump is working and putting fuel to the engine, then check for spark at a spark plug. Usually a sudden no start means the engine has lost either gas or spark.

Jeep compass wont start after fender bender

Is there spark ? Fuel pressure ? Do you know how to test to see which is missing ? Pull a coil an hold near metal on the engine an crank the engine , Is there spark ? If there is spark ,spray carb. cleaner into the engine throttle plate , does it try to start then ? If it does you have a fuel delivery problem . Check electrical circuit for fuel pump ! Videos on youtube for testing electrical circuits , how to read a wiring diagram . You can find free wiring diagrams at http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html No Start Diagnostic Basics EricTheCarGuy

Why my car stopped running and wont start?

no man on earth can answer this, nobody.

engine stalled, will not restart. even next day?

2005 caddy, engine not stated, even though its engine related.

so, what are the, why not post them?

its like telling Doctor im sick and hurt 14 places but refusing to point.

post the DTCs, please. or its all a crap shoot.

Generic answer for no starts. but cranks over fast.

  1. out of fuel.

  2. battery weak. (not charged to 12.6vdc rested and parked)

  3. Fuses blown. test them.

  4. cluster CEL lamp out key on, ECU dead, check fuses.

  5. Engine flooding, may start next day. (crank WOT to clear it)

  6. lost engine compression.

  7. lost spark. to any or all cylinders (tune ups skipped)

  8. Lost fueling

  9. each of above have simple tests. ask if want to learn them.

post the codes, and engine type, size.

and watch scotty and take 2 aspirin

2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE security system wont let car start

first most GM OEM systems will need to recognize the key first and foremost ,to do that you will need to roll window down on driver door, turn the key to the run position and with engine NOT running leave the key on for 10 minutes exactly ..then turn ignition off then try to start engine. if original system is working engine should start normally

Truck wont start

If you have no fuel pressure at the engine when key is on, the pump is not coming on. Check fuel pump fuse, check fuel pump relay (relay should click when key turned to on-put finger lightly on it and feel for click when someone turns key to on). If no click, signal from computer may be lost, ground for relay may be lost, or relay may be bad. If it clicks, wiring from relay to pump may have failed, or the relay's main power source may not be there at relay-find the fuse link or maxi-fuse that powers that relay. One terminal at relay should be hot at all times-can check for that with a test light.
If pump is working and you do have fuel pressure, you will need to check injector circuit. Post back if questions, or need further help.

1988 gmc k1500 reset computer now truck wont start

Other than holding the throttle open until the computer re-learns the throttle position, I doubt the computer has lost anything needed for the truck to start.
Check for spark at the plugs and fuel pressure at the injectors like any other no start issue.
