Steam coming through heat/cooling vents

You have one of 4 problems, #1 the drain at the bottom of the plenum is clogged (this usually drains out under the car near the fire wall on passenger side if vehicle and is useful primarily during AC use to drain condensed water) #2 your heater core is leaking and requires replacement. #3, the outside air intake venting is not draining properly and allowing rain water and condensation to enter through the intake and into the plenum. #4 in rare cases coolant is leaking past the heater hose clamps at the heater core and allowing coolant to enter the plenum.

There is smoke come in from the heat vents

Are you sure it's smoke? Usualy this is steam from a ruptured heater core. If so you are loosing coolant into the heater ducting and it will eventually overheat. If it is steam from a bad heater core it will smell like anti-freeze.

Antifreeze steam comeing through vents

Your heater core has a leak, it's like a small radiator that heats up and the blower motor blows air thru it to create heat in the car. It is leaking anti freeze into the heater box.

Steam is coming in car through heating vents

this would be a bad heater core. this is located under the dash on right side inside the heater box next to the blower motor the steam is acctualy radiator fluid that runs through it.

I have a 1999 dodge ram with a 460. I have very little heat and there is a mist that comes out of the vents when i turn the heater on. I unhooked the heater hoses and ran water through the core and it ran...

The hoses might have a heater control valve on one ofthem, check and see,an you may have to replace it.Also make sure there is enough coolant in the system,it will not flow threw the heater core if there is not enough coolant in the system, the mist could be the hole in the heater core.

A/c and heater vents

your blend door is not working properly. you might have missed a wire or a linkage when you install the heater core.

Heater core

The automotive repair manuels that you can buy at the major part stores such as Autozone, Advance or ORiley's do a good job of describing how the heater core is removed. Most heater cores come out from under the dash, while a rare few are removed from the firewall.

One wonders why you are changing the heater core. Are you getting steam on the inside of your windshield? Usually the best indication your heater core is leaking, or are you getting no heat? In which case it make be duct doors.
