Question about 2000 Dodge Durango
Replaced TPS, new battery. Sometimes it works well and other times not at all. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My 2000 Dodge Durango 5.9 surges, the cruise control comes on when my engine starts to surge rapidly. When I start in the morning the R.P.M reaches as far as 1900 . The temperature gauge reaches 260 and within two seconds drops to 130. Please help as this truck is driving me crazy.
When I turn the ignition switch 4 or 5 times and try re-starting the truck starts and idle normal. I am of the opinion that these Dodge Durangos should have been recalled.

Hello, I posted a problem close to yours. I will give you a head up on your fuel filter. You will find it inside your gas tank. The only way to change it is to drop your tank. All I can say is try your air control vale its next to the tps. If you have an O2 code like I had replace and then try your tempture control sensor. Its about $15.00 if you change it your self. GOOD LUCK the dealers don't know how to fix it neither.

First check all vacuum lines especially the one behind the throttle body to make sure none of them are off also have it tested to see if one of the coil packs on the spark plugs is bad and it hasn't had a tune up in awhile now is a good time to do so fuel filter plugs coil pack on the plugs if needed and the drive belt checked
