Question about 2006 Chevrolet Aveo
06' chevy aveo key will not turn to full off position. Tried turning the wheel, checked fuses, cannot put car into gear without using shift override button. Is there something under the console, or a fuse I'm missing ?
There is a shift release button on your gear shift, I had the same problem with my 04. When I took it apart, I saw that there is a switch that lets the car know it's in park and you can remove the key. However, the bracket that holds this switch in place is very weak and tends to break. you will need to get that replaced. If you know someone who can work on cars though, you can have them rig it to stay in place, thats what I did and it has worked fine since 07. you say it's an 06 if you have a warrenty on it use it now.

Try moving the steering wheel around. It may be in the lock position!
