Check the ignition swich, may have some bad contacts, try to move it around with the key in it if the gauges go on ,this could be the problem. I had this happen to my car.

No help but my gauges stopped working at about the same time on my '98 Frontier. So far, the fuel, temp., speedometer, odometer and trip gauges don't work or some work at different times after starting the engine.

Next time when you refill up,DO NOT TOP OFF THE GAS.
When the gas pump stop, just let it stop. DO NOT TRY to put more into the take.
When topping off,the fuel sensing float is push BEYOND it limit. It will create a short on the wiring to the gauage.
Please ran few tank WITHOUT TOPPING off and see does the flow return to normal and not creating a short.
The fuel pump and gas level sensor is in the same unit. It's costly to pull the gas tank down and replace it.

My gauges and heat dont work on my car and the check engine light comes on

This may be related to a loose battery cable or alternator concern, low voltage can cause these concerns as well as an alternator problem, also this could be related to the body control module, Go to a Kragen, Auto Zone and have the battery and alternator tested, it's free, let me know the results.
