That usually means the battery is not charging and that could be the fan belt has broken (which will cause the engine to overheat) or the alternator is faulty.

The battery light indicates the alternator is not charging the battery, keep driving and the car will stop when the battery runs out! Get the alternator checked!

Not all bench tests on alternators are reliable. That battery has to be brought back to a full charge. It could be a simple connection to the alternator. Check those battery cables as well make sure the ground wire is secure.

Voltage indicator light is on

If you mean the battery light, chances are the alternator is not charging the battery.
You can have it checked on the car at most auto parts stores.

1999 plynouth grand voyager was coding egr replace

just because the check engine light is back on, it doesn't necessarily mean it is for the same problem. it could be, but would need to pull codes again to find out what its for. literally hundreds of different codes could turn on check engine light. also, was original code for "insufficient egr flow" or "excessive egr flow"? it makes a difference.
