On the S80, there should be two different types of struts for the front. One with a wire that comes out of the bottom of the strut and one that doesn't. If it has the wire...I'd recommend taking it to dealership. If it doesn't...I haven't heard any problems with aftermarket struts.

The C70 has struts on the front and shocks on the back. Most typical set up for most cars.

Does the brake light come on when making turns, braking, or accelerating?

If so, check your brake fluid reservoir. If it gets too low, it can slosh to one side away from the level sensor and causing the light to stay on for awhile. If the level is's a good sign that your brake pads may need replacement.

Clunking in the right front wheel, bounces all over the place

sounds like a loose or broken strut. a strut is like the old shock absorber.the struts are supposed to be better but they do go bad or need to have your mechanic look at it.struts vary in price and you really don't want a shade tree mechanic for this job.the wheel will have to come off and the strut will have to come off.this controls the way your vehicle rides and drives.hope this helps and thank you for choosing

Do i have shocks and or struts also my abs light came on for a week or so than went off i know i need wheel bearings is the sensor included i have 72000mi any thing else i should be aware of at this point...

what kind of car do you have, you probably have struts in the front and shocks in the rear, and no the sensor will not be included in the wheel bearings, but if the wheel is not making a roaring noise you may not need new bearings, have someone you trust drive it and listen to it and you may be able to avoid paying a fortune for something you don't need.

Dashboard red lights

Your ABS Computer is likely failing. They have problems with the solder joints on the circuit board, causing a code to be set and the lights to come on. Very common on this vehicle!

Several possibilities, control arm bushings, strut mounts/strut, or there is an O-ring kit that may need to be installed on the sub frame bushings.

Shocks or struts for front driver & passanger

The front has struts and the rear has shocks. I used Volvo OEMs. The rears are VERY easy to do yourself. The upper mounts are located behind the rear doors in the trunk area. It takes 15 minutes each to replace the rears.

The fronts are not difficult to remove if you have an air wrench + 6 sided socket, and a special star socket (14mm I think). You can find detailed instructions online. Once the front struts are out of the vehicle, you'll need to compress the springs before taking them apart. I did one myself using loaner spring compressors from Advanced Auto. I brought the second one into my local muffler shop because they have an industrial spring compressor. Make sure that you have a ride available to the nearest Volvo Parts dealer because once you get the struts apart, you'll probably need to replace the rubber bearing assembly in the strut that rotates when the wheel turns. There is also a rubber sleve that surrounds the strut to keep dirt out. The metal mount for his corrodes. The struts are a very important part of your steering, so if you do the fronts use care. Also, be aware that you'll probably be purchasing alot more parts than just the piston for the fronts. Suggest that you price it all out before proceeding.
