    2006 TOWN & COUNTRY CODE P0406??

  • Anonymous Mar 26, 2014

Hi, I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 w/a5.7 Hemi. I have replaced the egr valve 3 times now. Every time it pushes a code P0406.Once the valve is replaced the engine light goes off, and it it is good for about 3 to 4 weeks then it pushes the light all over again. What would be causing this to keep happening over and over again.

It is for the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve.

Check engine compression and compare. then test running engine compression most engines have about 130-170 cranking compression and about 90-110 running compression. OR bring that cylinder to its Top Dead Center compression stroke apply air to the cylinder and check to see where the air is going open throttle plate bad intake valve, from exhaust pipe bad exhaust valve, from oil cap piston rings.

What is the fix for (egr flow sensor a) on 2007 dodge hemi? This code came up when light came on.

It is probably the EGR valve itself. I would remove the valve and check the lines coming off of it to make sure it is not clogged. If that checks out ok then I would replace the EGR Valve and then clear the code with a scan tool.

2005 ram hemi, code is P0406

Check the voltage at the EGR solenoid and ground. Remove the EGR valve and clean the carbon buildup out of it or replace it altogether. A new EGR valve will run you about $60 from the dealer.

OBD II code P0406. Any solutions?

you have a egr issue. It could be the valve needs replacing but without a diag it could be an electrical issue like a broken wire. Will need a snanner to check it out correctly

CODE P0406 APEARS '04 DODGE HEMI

P0406 is the EGR valve. It sits on the right front of the engine. Just remove the two bolts on the tube and the two bolts on the valve itself and there you go. Reset the lamp with a scan tool or by disconnecting the battery for a couple minutes and retest.

05 ram with hemi code p0406

Most of the times it is the EGR sensor that has gone bad. It is located in the back right side by the throttle body. You will see a hose that runs from the top of your EGR to the sensor. On your Dodge it is VERY eay to replace.
