Question about 1993 Toyota Previa

1 Answer

1993 toyota previa won't start

I was in a front end accident and my family and I put it back together. It started before we welded the front headlight assembly on. Now it won't turn over. The starter was just replaced right before the accident. The battery wasn't disconnected prior to welding. We have no money to pay someone to tell us whats wrong and we aren't going to see any money from insurance. Please help. She's my baby.

CHECK FOR CUT OUT SWITCH WHCH SHUTS DOWN POWER IN ACCIDENT, BUT WELDING WITH THE BATTERY CONNECTED MEANS YOU PROBLERLY FRIED SOMETHING, WHICH MEANS CHANGING BITS TO FIND WOTS WRONG, TAKE STARTER OUT AND TEST ON BATTERY FIRST,

How to remove egr valve on a 1993 toyota previa

That previa has a central engine, so all engine work requires you take out driver and or front passenger seat out.

The EGR placement is here >> http://www.autozone.com/autozone/repairguides/Toyota-Previa-1991-1997-Repair-Information/EMISSION-CONTROLS/Exhaust-Gas-Recirculation-System/_/P-0900c1528008a1d5

1993 toyota previa was on hwy wouldn't go over 70mph then started losing power took first off ramp by then alot of white smoke was coming out the back end and died before it came to a stop

and oil level on engine is full?
was that smoke oil smoke or steam,?
no matter, id do a compression test on it,
if the engine (unstated type) is interference engine
id do a leak down test by hand, so as to limit further damage.

Headlights won't go off

Hello! I don't see a connection between the headlight issue and not starting...However I definitely see a connection with the accident and not starting...When you say "not starting" do you mean the starter doesn't crank the engine or it does crank the engine but won't start? Do you have a meter and a wee bit of experience using one? If you do we can isolate this fault together...Send a comment...Guru...Saailer

Noise coming right front wheel. I assume that it is the wheel bearing. My question is: are there an inner -AND- outer bearing. Also, how dificult are they to replace. 1993 Toyota Previa front disc brakes....

whole assembly has to be changed, the bearing is one non-dissasemblable unit, it has to be pressed out and in. best done by someone who has the right tools.

1993 toyota previa. car starts when cold, but if i drive car 4 a while and turn it off it wont start until i let it sit 4 a couple of hours.

Corroded positive battery terminal. Clean both the terminal and the battery post and tighten clamp bolt. Don't just tighten bolts. There's a layer of corrosion that conducts when cold/damp and gets warm during starting and charging, dries out, and then won't conduct.

1993 Toyota Previa won't start... I took the battery to O'rielys and it was 75% charged so they charged it up full for me, I replaced the leads and cleaned off all corrosion on the battery. When I try...

Check the other end of the battery cable going to the solenoid. It's possible that's corroded and is preventing sufficient power from the battery to engage the starter. If it's fine, you may be looking at replacing the starter. A bad starter will usuallly function while its cold and once it warms up, will need more and more power until one day, it won't turn at all.
If you've been experiencing slow starting just before it quit altogether, I'd lean toward the starter being the issue but I'd certainly check the battery cable at the solenoid first. I wish you all the best and hope this answers your question.
