Question about 2004 Honda Accord

3 Answers

We have a 2004 Honda Accord Sedan, light quit working on the radio, dash lights still work, and when the sun hits the radio display just right you can see it's still got the right info on it, it just doesn't light up.... We checked fuse #5, which is for the radio, no help!

Interesting...the same thing happened to my radio display on exactly the same day as you. This may be a program error inherent in the radio display. My father was a programmer and he confessed that sometimes they would program a "time bomb" to go off so that he would be called in for troubleshooting. I hope that this isn't the case with this problem. At this time I have no solutions. I was just amazed of the similarity and timing coincidence.

My problem is the same on my 2003 accord. It just went out like that yesterday 3/2/09. I heard to call Honda @ 1-800-999-1009 and it could possibly be a recall. I'm calling tomorrow to check and hopefully it's covered!

I have received the same problem. My dash lights work but not the stereo lights. I tried to see if it was a fuse. But apparently not. Im calling tomorrow to see if they can fix my problem.

The same thing happened on my 2004 Coupe the other day at around 55,00 miles. Thought it was the fuse but as you have read before that is not it. I'll be calling my dealer for a warranty claim tomorrow.

Same problem on my Honda Accord 2004 model. Lights around radio, temperature indicator and heat/ac controls went out in a two day period. I cannot find a fuse burned out?? Any help will be appreciated.

This is a common issue for 2003 and 2004 Accords without Navigation. This issue has been brought upto Honda America and has extended the warranty for this issue to 7 years of 100,000 miles which ever comes first.

There is an unpublished extended warranty covering this (actaully is covers the printed circuit board). Contact your dealer. The Honda customer service telephone contact will DENY this.

Parking lamps and tail lamps blows fuse, dash lights don't work

First thing I would check is all frame grounds... like the negative battery cable and the grounding strap on the passenger side motor Mount to the wheel hub. In any electrical system, lights draw more current than anything (except the battery) when you turn them on... Check the grounds!

1993 honda accord ex drove in rain belt squeeled

Sounds like maybe the ECU had taken in some water. Is your ECM located behind the engine on the firewall? There are two large fuses located on the passenger side wheel well in the engine bay. They are two large (2" plastic covers) over them.

Center console lights are out on 2003 Accord

Let me guess, the Hazard light is the only light to the right of the dash that comes on? You can still use your temp control and radio but you cannot see the display? You are in luck, Honda did a recal on some stupid module that blew to cause that problem. It happened to me, here is the trick, call Honda USA (800 number on their website) and report the problem. They will notifiy your local dealership so when you come in it will be covered for free under the recall. MAKE SURE YOU CALL HONDA USA if you don't your dealership might try to charge you for it, costs in the neighborhood of $500! Good Luck!
