Question about Honda Accord

1 Answer

When the car was wrecked the condenser coil was pushed over the bottom lip of the radiator and I can't get in there to bend it back without messing up the condenser coil. Nor can I get the radiator or the condenser coil out.

Have you tried to remove all the bolts and pull the radiator and coil out as one.

Had the same problem when I crashed my pontiac bonneville. I use a pry bar and luckily it didn't mess up the coil. I was able to bend it about 1/2 inch without any problem. If it does break you can always hit up the good o'l junk yard instead of buying new parts.

Heat temp gauge on motor if faulty can it effect the cooling temp of the air conditioning

Not normally. If the heat temp GAUGE shows hot and the A/C blows warm you could actually be having a hot engine.situation. The heat GAUGE is controlled by the TEMP SENDER UNIT and has no connection with the A/C other than the A/C condenser rides in front of the radiator and catches all the debris first which can plug up the air flow to the radiator and cause the temp gauge to climb. If the A/C condenser is plugged by dirt and debris the Freon can't get cooled down enough to cool the cabin temp very well.
My suggestion would be to back wash the radiator and condenser. Use a high pressured garden hose and from the engine bay squirt the hose through the radiator and the condenser both to remove what you can't see. Be very careful not to bend the cooling fins of either the radiator or the condenser.

What's the cost to repair cracked radiator for 1996 cadillac deville

I replaced mine about a month ago, yuck plastic....... you can order one at prices range from $79 to $194 myself I got the $112 one with about $10 shipping and fast about 3 business days
to install
1. Two motor mounts on top 3 bolts each one 13mm heads take out and and fold bock over
2. There is an electrical gadget on the front brace in the center mounted down with 2
bolts with a 10mm heads remove and lay aside
3. Remove the positive battery cable and lay aside
4. Remove the top radiator hose at the radiator and bend back over
the motor.
5. Remove the top transmission fluid line to the radiator 5/8" will
do it.
6. Remove the bottom radiator completely and set aside.
7. Remove the bottom tranny fluid line and raise up to prevent
spilling out fluid, it will tuck in, up or fluid will run out.
8. Remove the top bolts on fans, 10mm, unplug the connection. The fans are bolted at the top and sets in a rubber slot at the bottom,
they will come out by moving them to your left one at a time.
9. 3 bolts holds the top bracket on the radiator 10mm they are under
the brace, lean back toward the motor and lift out bracket, the radiator is not ready yet to come out, there is a AC condensing coil
bracket on each side in front helt by 2 screws 7mm take these
screws out and lean the radiator more towards motor and you
will see how these little brackets are helt in place just lift straight
up and remove... OK lift the radiator out, watch out for the 2
little rubber saddles that the radiator sets in on bottom
10. remember nothing bolts down at the bottom all on top
Good Luck
P.S. carb cleaner is a good way to clean the greasy gunk off

My 1983 jeep cj7 258 acid. won't start. It turns over but won't fire up. Wondering if leaving key on for 30 min without running might have messed up the distributer?

Could have messed up a lot. Check the coil, points, condenser, and choke pull-off if it's electric. Some auto chokes have an electric heater, check for that, too. I'd just get a new condenser and points.

2006 saturn ion radiator replacement

Difficult to say since the standard replacement fee would not apply. You may have to just pay by the hour, usually half the professional rate.

I can't locate the ac / condenser drain plug on 2004 grand cherokee limited. looked every where.

The drain plug is at the bottom of the radiator, close by the lower radiator hose. If you have a radiator without the drain plug, disconnect the radiator lower hose (radiator side) to drain the radiator. Be sure to connect it back together after you flush the system, and before you top it off.

I took out the slave cylinder without removing the line when I put it back in the clutch will not engage won't even let me push in peddle without bending linkage any suggestions

It sounds like the piston in the slave cylinder is all the way out against the snap ring. It will have to be pushed back in to the bottom of the bore.

Do I need to put the ac condenser fan back into my daughter's car? She wrecked the front end and the fan broke.

Yes, the fan is used for more than just the a/c. It's used to cool the radiator down in the summer.
I would replace if damaged or broken.
