Question about 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier
2001 Chevorlet Cavilier brake lights and and blinkers going out, plastic burning and not working. seems like they are getting too much juice or something. replaced with new bulb and within 3 hours they went out. checked it and the plastic around the bulb was all burnt and would not work. we have went through 4 sets of new blinkers. i have been told the wiring must be touching or bare but not sure were to look. at times they blinkers, tailights, and brakelights all go out completely. was fixed 3 times by turning the hazards on & off but still no blinkers or tail lights. we had a glass bulb in 1 and it lasted longer but still goes out. we sand it down with sand paper and seems to get a little extra life. i have also read about getting pigtales or something. please help :) thanks,
The harness that holds the bulb is bad. I had to replace both in my car after dealing with changing bulbs over and over to get it to work. My did this exact same thing.

Sounds like you put a 21 watt bulb in place of a 6 watt bulb ,or you have put single pole bulb in place of a double filament, double pole bulb
