It's just to the drivers side of the valve cover. Attached to the coolant flange under the hose for the PCV. In this pic if it works.

HERE if it didn't work.

Relieve coolant pressure.
Loosen the 2 air intake duct clamps and remove the air intake duct.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in engine electrical.
Disconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector.
Using a deep well socket and extension, remove the sensor.

I have a 2003 Suzuki aerio . Need to know where is the temperature sensor is located and if possible do you have picture

temperature of what, ?
cars can have over 5 temp sensors.
water=ECT
induction AIr, IAT.
gage dash water (gauge sender or used ECT)
A/c cut out sensors of 2 types. core and engine overheat.
transmission temps.
so we cant guess, your symptoms or which one.
sorry.

login to alldata.com and read.
it's there.
or post engine size and what THING is wrong temperature.

see thermostat housing. see sensor screwed into it.
drain coolant.
remove 2 pin connector.
remove sensors. (counter clockwise = remove)

Location of engine coolant temperature sensor

Automobiles: 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 4-cylinder 2.0L MFI DOHC

NOTE
The "left" side of the engine is the driver's side.

The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is a thermistor (a device which changes resistance or voltage as temperature changes). The sensor detects the temperature of engine coolant and provides a corresponding signal to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module - aka "the car's computer").

The ECT sensor is mounted in the following locations (small Ford engines):

1.8L engines: in the cylinder head
1.9L engines: threaded into the heater hose inlet pipe
2.0L engines: at the left rear of the engine

2.0L Zetec Engine

(1) Partially drain the engine cooling system using a clean container. If coolant is in good condition, retain for reuse.
(2) Disconnect the battery ground cable.
(3) Disconnect the electrical wiring connector from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.
(4) Remove the retaining clip and the ECT sensor.

Fig. 1 Escort ZX2 ECT sensor - The retaining clip is removed (at the solid arrow). Withdraw ECT sensor by gently wiggling/pulling in the direction of the dashed arrow.

To install:

NOTE
Coat the ECT sensor O-ring with clean coolant prior to installation.

(1) Replace the retaining clip and the ECT sensor.
(2) Connect the electrical wiring connector from the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
(3) Connect the battery ground cable.
(4) Refill the engine cooling system. An inexpensive plastic "Radiator Funnel" will help with this task.

Where is the tempurture cooling sensor located on a 1994 buick regal

The coolant temperature sensor is a thermistor mounted in the engine coolant stream. A thermistor is an electrical device that varies its resistance in relation to changes in temperature.

For 2.5L engines, the coolant temperature sensor is located on the left side of the cylinder head.

For MFI engines, the coolant temperature sensor is located on the intake manifold water jacket or near (or on) the thermostat housing.

Where is the temperature sensor for a ford e-150 van 1994 on a 300ci v-8 engine. Thanks rick

1994 Ford Truck E150 1/2 ton Van 5.8L MFI 8cyl Temperature Switch is located: Front seating area, center, under engine cover, front driver side of intake manifold, mounted in engine block.

The ECT sensor (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor) is located either in the heater supply tube at the rear of the engine, or in the lower intake manifold. The ECT sensor is a thermistor (changes resistance as temperature changes). The sensor detects the temperature of engine coolant and provides a corresponding signal to the PCM. From this signal, the PCM will modify the air/fuel ratio (mixture), idle speed, spark advance, EGR and canister purge control. When the engine coolant is cold, the ECT sensor signal causes the PCM to provide enrichment to the air/fuel ratio for good cold drive-away; as engine coolant warms up, the voltage will drop.

Temp Gauge inside car "sticks"

Yadayada ,don't know where you came up with that . This vehicle has just one ECT - engine coolat temp. sensor . It's an input for the PCM - engine computer . The PCM sends this info to the instrument cluster over the class2 serial data bus. . The proper way to diagnose a problem like this would be to hook up a professional scanner an check input data to the PCM , an instrument cluster . Not guessing an replacing parts .
Engine Coolant Temperature Gage
The IPC displays the engine coolant temperature as determined by the PCM. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM indicating the engine coolant temperature. The engine coolant temperature gage defaults to 60°C (140°F) or below if:
• The PCM detects a malfunction in the engine coolant temperature sensor circuit.
• The IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with the PCM.

What engine ? could have come with a 3.4 or 3.8 L .
Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor (L36)
Left side of the engine, below the thermostat outlet

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor (LA1)
LH side, top of the engine

Both are close to the thermostat housing , do you know what an where that is ? Follow the top radiator hose to the engine , should be near there . Look at the new part ,can't you match it up.
