Was thinking it is the battery since the lights come on in the vehicle. could it be something else?

  • marlon_mcdon Feb 02, 2009

The starter do make a clicking noise ................however I didn't check the head lights to see if the come on or how bright they are. Will check that later when I get home and also have the battery looked at.

Had the battery check and it was bad, replace it and the vehicle is running again.

You've probably worn the battery down, and I would guess by the age of the vehicle, the battery you have is on it's last leg.

Have someone jump start you, and get the battery checked/replaced. Any battery over 3 years old should be suspect.

How bright do they come on, and is it the interior lights your talking about, or the headlights?

Interior lights coming on is no indicator, especially after vehicle sat all night. Batteries tend to rejuvenate themselves after sitting, at least enough to make the interior light's light.

Headlight's being bright suggest a different problem.

Does the starter make any clicking noise at all?

The idle on my 98 Isuzu Rodeo shoots up AFTER driving for awhile, then goes back to normal after killing the engine for awhile. Need some troubleshooting suggestions. Thanks

You more than likely have a idler sensor bad. It could also be a O2 sensor. Is your check engine light on ? If so, you can take it to Auto Zone and they will check it for you for free.

Alrighty, I'm going to be as detailed as I possibly can. During our "cold snaps" the truck ('99 Isuzu Rodeo, V6, stand') struggled to start in the morning. Had everything tested and was told all...

I have a 1997 Rodeo. When my car idled rough or was hard to start, I was getting the P101 alarm that suggeted the MAF needed changed. Luckily my son has a 95' Rodeo so I am able to swap parts to help diagnos issues. It turned out that the idle air control valve that is mounted on the throttle body was the problem.
