2003 Chevy Silverado

I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500. It started making a clicking noise under the hood, first we thought it was the universal joint, but after having a mechinal look at it, he said it was the Transfer Case. He is unable to find a transfer case for our vechile.
What would be better a new transfer case or have the current transfer case rebuilt?
I know nothing about vechile parts and really need some advise on what to do.

Could be a failing universal joint in the drive shaft. Have you been lubricating these joints regularly. If not, they will prematurely fail and need replacement. Re-greasing may help a little if the joint is not too far gone, but the damage my already be done..

I have a 1999 chevy silverado Z71 1500 5.3. It makes loud grinding and poping noises when I put it in gear how do I know if its the transmission or the transfer case?

the transfer case only engages when in 4wd. check the universal joint, it connects from the drive shaft to the rear differential. it may need grease or to be replaced.

Have your universal joints checked and also the differential fluid level checked. Also the leaf spring bushings on those GM's do go bad have them checked too.

I have a roaring noise under the hood of my 06 chevy Z71

Have you looked at the Universal joint(s)? If it is 4-wd I'd inspect the front driveshafts as well - Other than that, I'd also inspect the brakes to ensure that the shoes were being held down properly and that the Universal joint is not worn - It sounds alot like either the U-joint or a brake problem - Have you inspected the rear end? Do you use the truck to pull anything? If you'll look at the U-joint and Brakes - If not, there are carrier bearings inside the rear end that may be the culprit as well, but I'd leave them for last as inspection is a bit involved -

Clicking noise in front end when 4x4 is ingaged.

Have the front hubs and CV joints checked, that is where this kind of noise most commonly comes from.
