Multifunction switch

No, just remove upper and lower trim pieces that cover the steering wheel. Unscrew the switch and disconnect it. Be sure to disable the airbag or SIR module in there. Don't want that airbag deploying.

Can't get pitman arm puller in small area to remove 2002 2500hd

You need to remove the bolts to the steering box and the one on the steering shaft and the power steering hoses, It's not that hard, but you now can do it yourself, just remember to mark the steering wheel shaft so the wheel is straight, (nail polish works great)

The airbags that i have removed in chevy steering wheels is easy, there are holes, one on each side of the steering wheel, you push something small and stiff in the hole and pull out ,do one side at a time. It shouldnt matter if the steering wheel is locked .

How to remove the cover off the steering on a 2002

Does your vehicle have an airbag in it? (SEE WARNING BELOW)
If so, you have to let the vehicle sit (no key in ignition!) for AT LEAST 30 minutes to deactivate airbag. Remove the screws from the back of the steering wheel to remove the airbag unit, (once airbag is removed, you should be able to see a little spring and a wire attached to the spring that is a push in and turn setup. That is attached to your horn button and if that is where the short is, fine. If not, you will have to proceed with taking the steering wheel off.) Make sure you make that vehicle sit for as long as possible before removing the airbag. Otherwise, it WILL deploy in your face and set you into the back seat at the very least!!!!!
To be safe, disconnect battery before even attempting to do anything with the steering wheel.

How do I remove the ignition switch on a 1999 chevy suburban?

Ok, start by disconnecting you negative battery cable. From there, wait at least 1 minute to disable your airbag system. You will have to remove the airbag from the steering wheel, it's retained by a couple bolts on the back of the steering wheel. Once you get the airbag out, disconnect the wires to it, and set it aside. Remove the clip that is above the lock nut for the steering wheel, then remove the lock nut. You need a steering wheel puller to pull the steering wheel off. After you remove the steering wheel, you should have access to the turn signal switch.

Remove me Steering wheel bmw 1999 e46 3 series

Disconnect negative battery cable. Locate airbag retentions on back of steering wheel. Unbolt or unclip retention devices, and release airbag. Then: Unplug airbag electrical connector. Remove nut or bolt in center of steering wheel with pneumatic impact wrench if necessary . Using appropriate steering wheel removal tool kit, carefully remove steering wheel, paying attention to associated wires, etc. Unplug anything not accompanying wheel, or that is in the way. Pay close attention to any rods, or contact pieces associated with the horn button(s.) Replace these upon reinstall. Reverse order to install including tightening center bolt to 35-55 ft-lbs. If this is your first stg wheel removal, try an old chevy, preferrably someone else's! If inexperienced, don't risk bruising your favorite Bimmer!!! Hope this helps you make your decision.
