1986 Mercury Grand Marquis 5.0L FI 8cyl. the Flasher is located in front seating area, driver side, under dash, driver side of steering column, mounted in fuse panel (turn signal) and front seating area, driver side, under dash, driver side of steering column, mounted in rear of fuse block (Hazard flasher).
pry loose inside corner trin panel. The adjuster is held into the trim panel with a small allen screw, loosen this to remove trim panel from adjustor. There are 3 10mm nuts attaching mirro to door. Most likey though you have a broken post that is broken off mirror.Very common for them to break.hope this helps
If the turn lights come on and don't flash, like mine did, I found the flasher behind the ashtray. If you can't reach it,there are only 4 screws holding the bracket (1/4 in.nut driver) that holds the ashtray.
