Question about 2005 Chrysler Crossfire

1 Answer

The Chrysler Crossfire is a nice "looking" vehicle but I've had an issues that my engine would shutdown without warning. The car would restart upwards to about 2 hours later but would shutdown again several miles later. Took it to the dealership THREE times and they have not been able to sort it out. i am now unable to use the car.

It is a bad solder joint in the RCM (Relay Control Module). Have the dealer replace the module and you should be fine. This is a known problem.

Chrysler crossfire wont start

I fail to see to see a question there

You have no motor shown
You only say it won't start

For all we know, it has been to a shop
& the problem solved by now

Electrical Issue-your asking,your guessing,
we're to guess? Really! Without a car to test
How's that work?

If we were in 1950, it would be a little more complicated
to diagnose vehicle issues back then, than what you provided

Provide details

What testing has been done?
Battery any good?
Got spark?
Got fuel pressure to motor?

Even open the hood?

Chrysler Crossfire will crank but not start. It starts fine when it's cold, but after driving around or making multiple stops, it will not start again. I have already changed the fuel pump relay

You can check codes on these without a scan tool ! surprised your mechanic doesn't know this ! Put the key in the ingition , turn it on then off , then on , then off then on again an leave it on . Then look at where the odometer is , will show P codes .

2004 crossfire engine dies at speed

Hello Paul, You stated your crossfire stalls and the usually restarts. It could be several things that cause this... If the check engine light is on, have it scanned to determine what caused it to come on - It sounds like you are having an intermittent crankshaft position sensor failure. I hope this information is helpful...Happy Holidays.

My 2004 crossfire has done this twice in the last six weeks, and its dangerous as it does it when your driving! Engine just cuts out, then restarts as per normal around 20mins later. Does anyone know...

Check to see if the engine is running hot. This will happen when the engine runs hot. After it has cooled down, then it starts back up until it runs too hot again. If that's the case it could be the thermostat.

05 Chrysler Crossfire Convertible top

Try using urethane sealant to redo the seal between the top and the glass.
I have a VW convertible that had the same problem. The sealant comes in a tube that you use in a caulk gun. Made by 3M and I purchased it from Advance Auto. About 18 bucks.

F350 super duty, engine cuts out without warning

Check to see if your truck was recalled for a faulty cam shaft sensor. Some sensors develop hair line cracks which allow contaminants to get in and the sensor becomes intermittent. The symptoms can include sudden shutdown of the engine so a recall was issued.
