Chrysler crossfire engine always stall

The Chrysler Crossfire is a nice "looking" vehicle but I've had an
issues that my engine would shutdown without warning. The car would
restart upwards to about 2 hours later but would shutdown again several
miles later. Took it to the dealership THREE times and they have not
been able to sort it out. i am now unable to use the car.

I have the same problem with my 2005 Crossfire. It has been in the shop for a month now and the "Geniuses" at the dealership claim that there is not issue because they cannot duplicate this. I had a similar problem with my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee and my finally discovered that my power train computer was on the fritz. I have recommend this the the dealership but it they have virtually ignored it since I'm not a "professional" mechanic.

I have the same problem with a 2004. someone told me it was the coil pack. it gets a hairline crack and as it heats up it causes this issue. i will get mine replaced and let you know. Also having issue with oil indicator stating HI then -2.0 Low but level is fine and checks out. Also, Right rear tail light burns out when braking and turn signal are both active.....

    Lucky me....

    Hey guys,
Has anyone found a solution to this yet? Because I've got the same problem with my Crossfire.

I have been experiencing the same problem with my 2004 Crossfire. I have 60K miles on my car. It just started doing this about 2-3 months ago. As I have been driving the car more recently, the problem has increased. It seems to stall out after slowing down or stopping. Two times car quit on my as I was pulling out into traffic - very scary. I have the car in for service right now - tech has eliminated battery, alternator, starter, fuel injectors and fuel pump. Now he's looking at the sensors. Does anyone know if Chrysler ever issued a recall on any sensors (I am original owner and don't recall getting anything.)

I have an excellent mechanic at my dealership.
I ran into the problem your are descrbing. Thought it was a fluke but when It got worse took it to the dealership my mechanic diagnosed it as an intermittant failure of the Crankshaft Sensor.

Chrysler crossfire wont start

I fail to see to see a question there

You have no motor shown
You only say it won't start

For all we know, it has been to a shop
& the problem solved by now

Electrical Issue-your asking,your guessing,
we're to guess? Really! Without a car to test
How's that work?

If we were in 1950, it would be a little more complicated
to diagnose vehicle issues back then, than what you provided

Provide details

What testing has been done?
Battery any good?
Got spark?
Got fuel pressure to motor?

Even open the hood?

I have a 2005 crossfire as well and it did the exact thing. Finally took it to a Mercedes shop and they found one of the crystals were cracked on my rely, it sits under the hood on the side of the wheel well. It's a black box. The only way they found the cracked crystal was with a magnifier glass. Not cheap by the way, but have had no further problems since that was done..

2004 crossfire engine dies at speed

Hello Paul, You stated your crossfire stalls and the usually restarts. It could be several things that cause this... If the check engine light is on, have it scanned to determine what caused it to come on - It sounds like you are having an intermittent crankshaft position sensor failure. I hope this information is helpful...Happy Holidays.

Just fueled up 93 octane. drove approx 1/2 mile to work. started the car, check engine light came on and runs extremely rough and stalls. could it be the fuel and how do i check it. 2004 chrysler...

I would suspect the fuel is the problem, most likely water is in the fuel, but get the codes read to see what fault shows up that turned on the check engine light.

Try using urethane sealant to redo the seal between the top and the glass.
I have a VW convertible that had the same problem. The sealant comes in a tube that you use in a caulk gun. Made by 3M and I purchased it from Advance Auto. About 18 bucks.

It is a bad solder joint in the RCM (Relay Control Module). Have the dealer replace the module and you should be fine. This is a known problem.
