You shouldn't have to remove the dash but the covet under the steering wheel. your relay should be close to your break pedal

If you already tried the bulbs, fuses and relays:

There's a switch on your brake pedal arm the controls the brake lights. It may need to be replaced or adjusted.

Hi, i have a 1997 jeep grand cherokee, and the brake lights will not go off. i have never seen this before, any suggestions?

Brake light switch is staying in the on position. It's located under the brake pedal. It will have to be replaced and can easily be done at home.

On my dashbord of my 1999 altima has the red light for the battery and the brakes.

check if the brakes are low...
the battery light mostly comes out because of either the battery of the alternator...mainly the alternator...
so you need to test them both with a volt meter...the battery should be giving 14+ volts when the car is running...
Good Luck!

My 1995 pathfinder se brake lights and dashbord wont light up. the dashbord works but when you turn the lights on the dashboard wont and the brake lights wont work ether they dont turn on.

Check the wiring in the rear. If this has a tow package, the converter could be bad. If you have a daytime running light system the module could be bad. Also for good measure check the fuses under the hood & in the cab. You'll need a wiring diagram, test light,& multi-meter to go further.

Relay box?

shouldn't have to take it apart at all. look at the fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side... if the relay is not there look in the fuse panel in the engine compartment near the battery.

Please rate this solution thanks
