Question about 1993 Ford F250

2 Answers

Brakes I have a 1993 f250 with a 7.3l non turbo deisel.About two weeks ago the front driverside calliper was stuck,so I replaced it and the front pads.I also bled the brakes.Since doing that the brakes dont work right, when you push on the pedal its hard as a rock and wont stop, but if you let up and wait a minute and do it again the pedal feels normal and it slows down but does notstop all the way.I have also replaced the master cylinder and the check valve and still no change.Could it be the vaccum pump, brake booster or propotion valve? Thanks Jim

Sense its a deisel i would go with the vacume pump, diesels don't put out any or very little vacume, if you don't have vacume than booster won't work hense hard peddel. when you say you let up on peddel and hit it again you got better break tells me it is not getting enought vacume to booster. i would go for the vacume pump.

Suspension 1986 nissan 300z non-turbo. front end has had the ball joints, bearings struts, and brakes replaced recently and the rack in pinion replaced 14 months ago but the front end still sounds like...

How are the motor mounts? After all that work, you are down to only a few things it could be. good luck. Look for any bent suspension pieces. Does it have a sway bar up front? Check linkage and bushings on that.

93 Caravan front drivers side calliper keeps appling pressure as im driving, replaced pads an calliper ,cleaned off magnet once ,wheel gets hot cause pressure keeps on while driving what do i do ?

The brake line has a metal support bracket on it. Rust builds up between the bracket and the rubber hose eventually pinching off the hose. The solution is to replace the hose or spread the bracket apart where it goes around the hose.

2006 ford focus rear brakes

If the piston is stuck out this is due to a seized calliper however a temp Fix is to turn the piston clockwise to force it back in as rear callipers are self releasing so they need to be turned clockwise they will not go stright back without turning. This is due by broken calliper seals although you will temp fix it, It's best to either replace calliper or buy a calliper fixing kit which includes all the seals that need replacing.
Also You will need to Empty the brake fluid out to make it easier to push the piston in it, Then you will need to bleed the whole brake system once fitted back.
