You will need to Locate the Leak before I can tell you if it is Serious Or not. Let me know where it is Coming From.

It could be an Oilpan Gasket or an Oil Drain Plug that the Seal is Bad on. I would get these Checked and Replaced and it should be Just Fine.

If the oil is not cherry red or smells burnt then there was not an oil change done
for oil to burn in such a short time, you would have had indications of problems early on and not a few days later.
for transmission problems run the fault codes as they will give a good indication of problems that are repairable
If you are still worried, have an accredited transmission shop do a pressure test , band and clutch pack adjustment and a filter clean ,then fill with new oil. The pan will be off to do the adjustments and filter so any major failure will be noticeable at that time.

Acts like its overheating, the antifreeze looks like its boiling when the car is running is that a sign of gaskets or it running into the oil pan itself? the cruise light comes on as its dieing.

Overheating can stall the fuel supply reduce the fuel flow and also can be related to failure of ignition, if igntion system fails.
The overheating of the car can be due to many reasons and you need to check on each one to confirm the working of the system.
1. In the first place the working of the engine must be assessed. it must be smooth with a good indication that the tuning timing and the power seems good. This will confirm that the settings of the engine is good and so there is less scope that the engine seems to heat up on its own.
2. Secondly the radiator pressure cap must be tight and good, the radiator MUST not loose coolant after a run or in a few days time- since this must be a sealed system and there is no scope of water overflow or loss unless there is a leak- sometimes the leak is too microscopic as under high pressure only steam might escape and so reduce the coolant. So check for leaks while the engine is hot , specially the radiator, the hose or the fittings.
3. The working of the water pump must be good to ensure a good flow and circulation, so check for leak in the water pump, check for presence of water in the exhaust or leaking on the engine gaskets.
4.Make sure that the coolant is good and clean if not drain and refill , if there is presence of rust please have a good flushing of the radiator or else the chances are that the radiator ports can be blocked and reduce the efficiency of the cooling .
5. Finally the cooling fan, the radiator fan must be working, check the thermostat/thermistor to work accordingly with good flow, have a good water jet wash on the radiator for a clean radiator cooling fin exposure

Hi i have a 1994 dodge caravan it is leaking oil can this be fix im worry that we would have to save money for a van for my kids thanks

The Chrysler minivan products all had leaking problems. I have had 5 or 6 different Dodge or Plymouth minivans from 88 to 99. How bad is it. The most common thing is Valve cover leaks. Front and rear seals in the engine leak as well as the oil pan gasket. If its leaking a little bit at a time open the hood and look at the front and rear of the engine. Do you see grease and oil that has gone down the sides of the engine? Do you see a lot of grease on the engine with some clean streaks going through it. You may be able to see where its leaking from. If you know someone that knows what their doing have them change the leaky gasket/s. If not you can probably have it repaired for less than buying another van unless other things are seriously wrong with the van.
Hope this helps... Dale

Oil leak onto garage floor either coming from oil pan gasket or oil filter not sure wich one

Clean the filter and pan with a spray cleaner, run engine for a few miutes.
recheck oil leak.
Probably is rear main seal leaking, very common trouble.
If not leaking much, keep drip pan under car to keep floor clean and drive on.
Most cars do leak after they age a little. The black line in the middle of the road is oil leaking from cars. Very common.

I have a 1990 300zx that is leaking oil somewhere, my transmission is full of oil under the car, where could the leak be?

Get some engine cleaner, and clean all signs of the oli leaking on the engine away.

Drive the car a little, to make the leaking happen, then get under there with a good flashlight and try to find signs of leaking. Leaks always come from the highest point where you can see signs of leakage.

The drain plug may need to be replaced, They could have damaged the threads or the gasket. It will leak and you not see it if the oil is leaking onto another part or when driving the wind is pushing the oil off that is leaking. Check out the drain plug.

95 monte carlo 110000kms has smoke/oil burning

If there is no blueish white smoke coming from the exhaust its more likely a leaking seal or gasket . also you can check the spark plugs for oil fouling they are also good indicators of how the engine is running . However unless you really want to fix the issues with this car I would look for another that doesn't smell like burning oil

My 2001 chevy cavalier has a oil leak and I can't

You can buy a florescent dye to add to the oil and a light to make the dye really shine.
Clean the engine with "brake clean" from a spray can at the oil leak areas ....then run the engine.
Check for the start location of the leak.
Start with a short run time ....... then longer run time if necessary until the leak(s) show.
With or with out the dye ......this brake cleaning method should help locate the leak(s).

Oil leak locations could be...in order of the most common on your car are........valve cover gasket, oil filter, oil pressure sending unit, drain plug, oil pan gasket, crank pickup sensor, rear seal.

When u run your car for a long of time make sure the oil drops down to the oil pan with engine off for about 10 minutes then check oil. If you stop and then immediately u check the oil, oil level will show low, because some oil is at the cylinder head. I think the oil seals for the crankshaft are worn, their one infront of the engine and one behind, where the motor is connected to the transmission. When the head gasket is not good you see oil in the the coolant or coolant in oil and white smoke comes out and car doesn't have enough power, because there is not good compression

Oil Leak & Clutch Problems

if you are willing to put some work into it. it could still be saved. The oil leak, if the leak is not obvious to the eye, could be the main seals front or back or both. The clutch can be adjusted and or replaced. If it does'nt smoke or the engine runs clean. it should be saved. but if the engine is bad then i would just sell as a parts vehicle.
