Check engine light was on, the vehicle idles hard at lights and the lights kinda flicker, took vehicle to National Tire and Battery, they checked the codes, said the distributor was bad...replaced the distributor, the distributor cap, spark plugs, and spark plug wires on 2-1-09. car was still idleing a bit, but this morning, the car is back to idling hard at lights, and the check engine light is back on! Any suggestions??

There could be several concerns.
The fuel pump is weak and cutting out.
The ignition coils are getting hot and cutting off. The torque convetor in the transmission could be staying in lock up mode, This will cause the vehicle to die out , there is to much torque on the engine when at idle, causing the engine to die out.
The exhaust system could be clogged.
I would try and get the vehicle to a mechanic or dealer to check out .
the check engine light may come on for several reasons. first in newer models the light is used because the fluid levels might be low. Another reason is that the ecm may have detected a fault in the sensor system because the parameters were exceeded. another reason is it could be that your fuel cap is not on tight enough. at this point it would hard for me to determine what the codes mean due to not having the manual for your vehicle. in the mean time my suggestion would be to have a full diagnostic done on the vehicle at a shop. some of those codes could be active and some might be stored and unless cleared they will remain and the light will stay on. considering your vehicle is running fine =I suspect that there not actually be a problem but the stored codes need to be reset in order for the light to go out... please rate this........thanks
