When you turn your ignition key to the on position, you should hear the fuel **** make a whrring sound . it means that your fuel pump is good. if not , the fuel **** is bad. Even if you took off the fuel pump and powered it directly. That does not mean it is good evev if it turns a bit. It has to have enough pressure.replace the fuel pump. You should have no problems after that.

Call a auto locksmith or have it removed to a dealer i thnk this is a immobilisor problem her the ECU is not communicating with engine and its possible it may need re-programming as the bits are not talking to one and other to put it in a easy to understand way .

Hi, my 1996 subaru legacy 250T turns over but wont start, can you tell me what could be wrong with it?

hi the engine needs spark and fuel to go so i would start with the fuel pump first, check its working by removing the hose between the fuel filter and the engine when motor is cold then flick the key on and see if fuel comes out, if not thats your prob. The things that cause no spark are faulty sensors, ecu unit, or coil packs which really need tested by an auto electrician to get a voltage reading but i would try fuel prob first as this is a common prob, cheers

Have you put the OBD scanner on it to find the problem. That would be a good place to start. the computer should have stored a code with the problem.

Clutch replacement details for 1996 legacy GTB

Trust me it is quite an excercise and not worth doing yourself. With the proper tools, a hoist and a my mate who is a Guru Subaru Mech it took 4 hours. Without having done it before and without the Hoist ( which is wha I was going to do initially ) I'd say you wouldn't get much change out of 8 - 12 hours.

Missing once at running temp at random

Since the problem obvasly was not solved, try replacing the fuel injectors, as most of the time this is what causes these symptoms.

I have the same problem. It was the camshaft sensor. After replacing the problem was solved. A malfunctioned crank sensor can give the same problem
