There are at least 2 bolts that hold mount to block maybe 3 but whatever, you need them all. if you got one broke off in the block you got to get it out, drill hole down center and use an easyout to get it out, and plenty of penatrant. now there is only one bolt and nut that holds mount to the frame , if thats broke, all you need is a new motor mount.

How do you replace the motor mounts on a 92 Cadillac deville

This is rather a generic answer for most vehicles. First disconnect the negative battery lead, then the positive. Then check the bell housing to tunnel distance and make sure you have some space to lift the engine. Locate the motor mounts you want to remove and replace. You will need to lift the engine, if both mounts are broken you can lift the engine prior to unbolting the mounts, if not, undo the bolt and lift the engine a little and remove the bolt then proceed to remove the other bolts. Jacking up the engine can be problematic. You may have to make a wood block to put between block and engine. Do not put the jack on the oil pan if you bend the pan you can create huge problems! For more specific instructions pertaining to your specific vehicle, obtain a Chilton's manual or Haymes repair manual for your specific vehicle. If you have an engine hoist you can lift the engine with it by hooking on to the factory lifting shackle.

Where is the motor months for a 93can Dakota n how do fix it

They'll be at the bottom of your engine, one on each side and possible one at one end. One piece will bolt to the side of the engine block, and one piece will bolt to the truck's frame. Between the two pieces will be a rubber vibration damper.

If you need to replace one or more motor mounts, you'll need to jack up the front of the truck enough to comfortably get under it, and support the truck with something that CANNOT fail. If the truck falls off the jack, it WILL KILL YOU DEAD. I like to put two or more spare tires/wheels under the vehicle with me - they take the impact if a jack fails, allowing me to survive.

You'll also need to jack up the engine slightly. Not much, just slightly... more to take the weight off the motor mounts than for anything else.

Work ONE motor mount at a time. DO NOT try to do more than one at a time - it's hellish to let an engine float around in there with no motor mounts while you try to get all those bolts to line up again.

After jacking up the engine slightly, unbolt one motor mount from the engine block. You may need any of several different types of wrenches to do this. Also unbolt the same motor mount from the truck frame. Now you can remove the motor mount altogether, letting the engine hang there between the remaining motor mount(s) and the jack. If you hadn't jacked up the engine, now it would have fallen when you took out the motor mount, and it'd have been EXTREMELY difficult to get it back into position so you could reinstall the new mount.

Installation is the reverse of removal. Bolt it (LOOSELY) to the frame, then to the block. You may need to do some prying to get the last bolts to line up with their holes. After all the bolts are installed loosely, THEN you can tighten them all down. If you tighten some before you install the others, the others may be impossible to line up with their holes.

Finish one, move on to the next.

How to install motor mounts on 2000 Nisan Quest?

Safely jack the car up, use jack stands, then using your jack and a piece of 2x4 wood between the jack and the engine block raise the jack until you just touch the engine. then loosen the motor mount bolts, before you remove the bolts raise the engine up slightly to take the weight off the mounts. then remove motor mount bolts and install new mount, install bolts tighten per torque spec by manufacturer and lower engine, remove jack and jack stands. done.

How to change the motor mounts on a 2004 sedona

Loosen motor mount bolts, raise engine off mount/s (with a cherry picker or carefully with a floor jack with a block of wood on it). Remove old mount/s. Put the new mount/s in place on block, inserting the bolts, but not tightening them just yet. Use a rolling head pry bar (or whatever you have that works) to align the mount/s with the frame bracket/s and bolt hole/s. Now you can tighten the bolts. Hope this helps you.

Trying to R & R the serpentine belt on a 1999 Olds Delta 88. The belt is routed arond a motor mount. Do I have to jack the motor and disconnect it from the motor mount in order to remove and replace...

yes you do. place a floor jack under engine with a block of wood on top of jack to protect the engine, put just enough pressure on jack to steady engine. remove motor mount, then jack up engine a bit to take belt off. replace the belt then lower jack and attach the mount. on the mount only the outside bolts need to come off to raise engine. do not remove from engine side unless you are changing it or its bad, be carefull when raising engine, pick it up from a sturdy place, not the oil pan. have a good day !!

Cant get the oil pan off a 302

You have to jack the engine up after removing the motor mount bolts on each side. Then once you have the engine jacked up a few inches, slide a piece of wood (2x4) in between the upper and lower parts of the motor mounts on each side. This will keep the engine elevated enough for you to drop the oil pan and replace the gasket. Then, just put all the bolts back in in the proper torque sequence, torque them all to spec, remove the wooden blocks from the motor mounts, slowly lower the engine back down and put the motor mount bolts back in.

I have a 1965 food falcon with a mustang 302 (1978 ) v8. how do i know if it is a windsor or not?

Well there is a 302 cleveland, they are mainly an Australian engine. Identifying one is much like telling the difference between a 351 windsor and a 351 cleveland. Based on the fact that it's from Ford's 335 engine family. 8 cap screws to hold on the valve covers, the block is longer do to the timing chain housing being integrated. The fuel pump bolts are mounted vertically, and the exhaust bolt holes are diagonal. Also, a big difference between an american 302 and an aussie 302 cleveland, is the connecting rods for the cleveland are 6.000''. Where the american 302 connecting rod length is 5.090". Also, referring to a 302 as a windsor is incorrect, it's block families name is the 90 degree v8. The only engine in that family that is properly named the windsor, is the 351 windsor. The 90 degree family also includes the 302 boss. The boss has cleveland style heads, and the block has screw in freeze plugs.

1964 1/2 mustang beinig rebuilt. A new 302 engine

That's because the 302 and the 260 don't share the same accessory bolt patterns. If it's a dealer installed AC the mounting may be "custom". If you still have the original engine, transfer the bolt hole positions, drill and tap. Good luck. Measure twice!

2005 maxima motor (F) mount

hi best advice is to look at how the mounting is secured to chassis and usually a steel bracket which securec to engine ? if so then i would support engine under neath with hydraulic trolly jack and block thenundo the chassis mounting bolts/nuts ? then just gently lift engine slightly enough to take weight off mounting ? then if you remove bolts from bracket to engine fixing so the mounting will remove complete with bracket and mounting block after raising engine again to ease removal then renew mount block to bracket but do not tighten bolts/nuts untill you have repositioned into place again on engine then resecure bracket to engine 1st this will leave a little movement on mount as you lower engine down again and locate bolt holes? hope this helps not too difficult diy iob just have a little patience

Motor mount

The engine mounts are located about the middle of the block on the side of the engine. The only other mount is located under transmission.
