Question about 2000 Chevrolet Impala
I have a 2000 impala it has the 3.4 l v6 when i take off the trans slips and shutters but if i take off real easy its smooth but only in 1 gear taking off other then that it shifts smooth could i need a new trans or i was told it could be a solenoid in the trans is that possable since the trans shifts fine?
YOUR PROBLEM IS IN THE TRANSMISSION. THERE 'S A DEVICE CALLED A PCS (PRESSUE CONTROL SOLENOID) VALVE. THIS VALVE MAINTAINS PRESSURE DURING SHIFTING PATTERNS. IF THIS VALVE LOOSES PRESSURE YOU WILL EXPERIENCE THE "SHUTTER/SLIP" SENSATION. TAKE TO A DEALER IF IT'S STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO YOU DON'T BEAR THE BRUNT OF THE COST!!

The problem is a known issue with the 1 to 2 shift at hard throttle. The fix is a repair of the entire 2nd clutch assy. in the transmission. There is a TSB about it released by Chevy. It will need that rebuild for the sudder to go away, or you can try and let off it at shift to stretch more miles out of it.
