One field wire to Negative side of coil. Power to power- fuse box that will cut off and on with truck, and ground to ground on the body are battery ground.

    don't work dis ????? I don't understand reply????? If you can find the coil. Hook field wire to negative side of coil. The positive to power source, ground to chassie.

My 1998 2.2 litre gmc sonoma it bringing up a frequent misfire code when hooked up to a computer...i changed plugs,wires,the fuel filter has been changed and 2 sensors as takes a long time to get...

Possible failed fuel injector if the code is for one cylinder only. Multiple cylinder misfires can be caused by low fuel press. Another possibility is a vacuum leak at intake runners.

I would like to know where the best place to hook up the signal wire for an aftermarket tachometer is

if its a older car with an ignition module then run it from the module/coil wire .

a light green or white wire in harness above brake booster.

a side note, what scanner do you use to get codes. my 95 has obd1 system with obd2 connection, does yours, thanks

look by the battery there is a 2 wire switch with 2 vac. lines hooked to it see if on of the lines are cracked

look at air filter box on inside it should be 2 wires that hooks to it on the out side.

mine is a 1990, beleive it or not, it hooks to the negative side of your coil under the hood facing the front of your truck it will be on the right hand side, (black is ground and red is hot for the light)
